I think I saw a poster of something similar at a friend's house; all Convoys in one spreadsheet (with another poster below it showing off all the Megatrons). Hmm...a huge Convoy vs. 'Tron battle. That would be interesting.

Anyway, another dumb idea I had a while back involved a storyline where - after the TF left Earth at the end of the Great War - humanity tries to use the leftover Cybertronian technology to rebuild civilization, only to inadvertently create a new race of TF that restart the war. Convoy would be the one frustrated with humanity's hatred towards their race, while the 'Tron will have a grudging respect for humanity for their creation of himself and his troops, being a bit more sympathetic and kind to humans than Convoy is (no, it's not Shattered Glass 1.5; 'Tron still hates humanity, he just respects them enough to give them 24 hours to evacuate Earth to him before he starts slaughtering them). I couldn't get the character designs right, though, so I dropped it.

This doesn't jive with me particularly because of the post-G2 timeline that clearly makes more sense than anything else. The last stages of the "Great War" actually take place on an irradiated Earth spread with Nucleon and Energon radiation, among other crap, and Skyquake and Clench and such fight Pyro and Thunderclash, and that's why everyone from Euro G1.5 has bright neon colours--it's Energon armour! Also explains Fruiticus.

So, are you saying that the idea is actually a GOOD one, because of the post G2 timeline? Or that, because of the post-G2 timeline, it's still a horrible idea, because humanity is dead by then? I'm a bit confused with this.

Either way, bright G1.5 colours being Energon Armour is still a neat idea! And not stupid at all!

Built 2 Rule was a stupid idea, however.

Okay. I'm not sure how to interpret that answer, but I'll assume it's for the latter. I actually came up with the idea when I realized that Earth was declared off-limits in Beast Wars, but no real explanation was given for why that was, and decided to make something to fill in the gap.

...Okay, ignoring OnslaughtSix' one word answers, can anyone tell me exactly what happened at the end of G2? I know there was the Swarm, and Optimus purified them with the Matrix...but what happened to Earth and the humans? I heard that humanity kicked both factions off to avoid further destruction to the planet, but I dunno if they survived or not. Maybe knowing that will help me understand whether or not my "TF built on Earth post-Great War" idea really WAS a stupid idea.

Nothing. Nothing happened. Liege Maximo showed up and that was it.

Then a long time went by and then BW happened.

Nobody talks about that bit because it's pointless and boring and the only reason you'd want to do it anyway is if you wanted to deal with G2 and possibly Euro G1.5 characters, which is what 'I' wanted to do so I'm cool with it.

So, in short, there's no canon that ever says what happens there, and it's best to either just make up your own crap or not worry about it because it's pointless anyway because All Hail Megatron is so freaking awesome.

Synjo,

Your pretty close with G2, but your last paragraph looks to be based on fan speculation.

Basic summary:

While the combined Autobot/Decepticon army fights a holding action against the Cybertronian Empire, the Swarm shows up. (This actually happens at the end of issue 11.)

Megatron attempts to deliver supplies, (in the form of a McGuffin armour treatment) to the forces on Earth. Starscream skeedadles. Prime attempts to contact and reason with Jhiaxus, hoping to team up with the Imperials against the Swarm.

Vague/sloppy/abstract art makes some fo this hard to follow.

Megatron reaches Earth, albeit with some difficulty. Prime's meeting with Jhiaxus goes badly. Very badly. And, it gets worse when the swarm shows up. The Swarm consumes Prime, and is purified by the Matrix. Before leaving the Swarm re-creates Prime.

There is no evidence to suggest that the Swarm could, let alone did, re-create anyone/thing else it consumed. And, no specific remarks are made about the fate of humanity. Presumably, some survived. But, given Megatron's blitzing of Earth, and the scale of the fight with Jhiaxus, things would likely look grim. (The Swarm was shown to be largely disinterested in organic life.)

Dom
-notes these events were completely ignored in "GI Joe", despite the cross-over.
