Speaking of Nintendo's censorship.... I've heard they're changing the name of the latest Transformers game for the Wii. Instead of "War for Cybertron" it'll be "Transformers: Cybertron Adventures". Guess they have an issue with the use of the word "War".

That seems kind of silly to me, but whatever.

If it's on the Wii, then I might be able to play this game. So that's something.

Yeah, I heard that too and since I own both an Xbox and a Wii, I'll be getting the Xbox one only, just on principal. Nintendo needs to be monetarily taught not to pussify America. I will say that I am not willing to extend this principal to the price of a whole system. I bought the SNES version of MK back in the day because I was not gonna shell out $200 for a system just to play one game.

Onslaught Six wrote:Ninty of America was like that in the early 90s, yes, but they've softened since then. The last I heard of major censorship was with Ganondorf coughing up blood at the end of Ocarina of Time, which got changed to green--and IIRC this was only because of the ESRB.
And then Ganondorf goes and gets *stabbed through the head* at the end of Wind Waker. How far we've come...

Ninty likely had dick-all to do with the Wii port being renamed--the studio likely did it because the Wii version is basically going to be a different game altogether. No online, reportedly, which is already a huge part of WfC's gameplay, sort of. Scourge: At least rent out a 360 when the game comes out. It'll be worth it.

Well if the differences are big enough, I could see that and might be willing to get it. As it is, I might rent it and see how different it is.

I'll see what I can do. I'm not really much of a vidya game guy, but I could see checking War for Cybertron out.

Not really a big deal. Beast Wars got renamed to Beasties for Canada. War Planets became Shadow Raiders. And yeah, the Wii version sounds like it's going to be very different.

I'm playing a lot of Metal Gear games recently. I plowed through the absolutely terrible NES original over a couple days--never did that before--and now I'm playing Ghost Babel, aka Metal Gear Solid: GBC. Which is an entirely different game to MGS on the PSX! It's not even in the same universe! But it's awesomely fun, and for a GBC game, it's seriously well done. Might be the best thing on the system.

Gonna give this a slight bump to let everyone know that I picked up War for Cybertron for the PS3 and I'm loving it. If anyone'd like to play a few rounds, add me as Misanthrope0.
