Re: ROTF Review Thread
In any case, she's ten times better than the Arcee we're getting now.
Re: ROTF Review Thread
Yeah, regarding that, aren't there supposed to be three bikes that combine into one 'bot? I've only seen Chromia, but I'm holding off because I have a wierd thing about peices of a merge group separately.

Apparently that was the initial idea for 'em, but it got cut out of the movie at some point. Now, I don't know for sure that it's necessarily cut out of the toys, but Hasbro's said there's no intentional combined mode for 'em. So go ahead and pick up Chromia if you're so inclined. She's odd-lookin', but has some appeal to her.

That's not what they said, unless I missed something. There's clearly some kind of clip in their backs. We've seen pics of Arcee and Chromia combined, and where the third bike would have filled in.
Regardless, the third bike (Flareup) is apparently Not Coming Out.

Oh. Well, balls, maybe I missed something then. I heard "No Official Combined Form" and left it at that, because, y'know, not gettin' 'em either way. Maybe that just meant, "Could do it, but not givin' you all the pieces to make it happen, suckers".
Well, whutevah.
God, I'm trying real hard not to be all trollin' in this section, so if I get to that point, someone smack me, all right?

Re: ROTF Review Thread
Now I have to read more posts! I'll never get to sleep at this rate!
Re: ROTF Review Thread
Well that kills it for me. If they ever do wind up making all three of them (and I'm not counting "no plans at this time" to equal "never ever ever EVER so forget about it you jerkwads!") I might pick them up, otherwise, forget it.138 Scourge wrote:Oh. Well, balls, maybe I missed something then. Re: ROTF Review Thread
Um, what? They said the exact opposite, there is an intentional combined mode designed into them, but they aren't likely to put it in Moonracer's instructions, instead finding a different way to get the info to the fans.138 Scourge wrote:Apparently that was the initial idea for 'em, but it got cut out of the movie at some point. The info out there from other outlets is so weird. I went to both Hasbro TF panels at Botcon and SDCC 09, between the 2, this is what I heard and have reported:
- there is a combination system designed into the bikes even though the concept was removed from the final film.
- the 3rd figure will be a repaint of one of the first 2 bikes.
- the 3rd figure's name was said to be "Moonracer", but several outlets are reporting that they heard "Flareup", perhaps it was something I didn't hear after that Moonracer comment. I was surprised because Moonracer is a name they've been trying to get back for a while.
- the 3rd figure's instructions probably won't have the combiner instructions as well, as it'd be confusing.
- Hasbro will try to get the combined instructions to us in a different manner, possibly online.
Also, I suspect the repaint will be of Arcee because that bike design is very similar to the 3rd bike design, while Chromia's bike mode is very dissimilar to it. Having put Arcee and Chromia together in a semi-combined state last night and not seeing anything come of it, I absolutely cannot fathom them combining into anything other than a massive tangled mess, but the bikes are non-traditional all the way so maybe the combiner will be as well.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?
