I just checked, still no HOF voting on the TF facebook page yet. Pushing this a little last-minute, eh? I'm guessing next Monday is the date.
Mako Crab wrote:Yeah, take away the 1-5 ranking and I'd be happy. Just my top 5 in no particular order, y'know? Then just tally how many times the same character's name comes up regardless of where they are on anyone's list.
It has to be ranked because there's no way to sift out the final top vote candidates among all the different sites' top 5's,and without that you can't get to the top 2.

The Hasbro HOF poll just went up on facebook. The finalists are:

* Rodimus Prime

* Optimus Primal

* Devastator

* Arcee

* Blackarachnia

I'm pretty happy with the finalists!

We nailed 4 out of 5 of those, and one of them was our 6th place runner-up! Now, who are you voting for? Using Facebook should hopefully limit shenanigans, but also limit who is voting to Facebook users.

Alternating my daily votes between Blackarachnia and Arcee. I really like Blackarachnia and Arcee has had a couple incarnations that I really liked too (G1 and TFP). Plus, I'd like there to be more fembots in future lines, and if this poll is any way to show Hasbro that, then that's what I'm gonna do. Like seriously- can we have more than 1 girl per team at a time? Is that so much to ask?

Anyway, love Primal too and Rodimus is a decent guy. I never hated him.

Devastator's cool as the first combiner and all that, but I wouldn't vote for him. He's not much of a character. More like just a big attack dog.

Yeah, Devastator somehow feels compelling to make the top 5 but never the top 2 for me, for exactly that reason.

Voting has begun again, and there's now 3 categories to vote in:

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1942

This is going to be a BEAST for me as the Star Wars convention is this week, ending the same day as the poll, this Sunday. Why so last minute, Hasbro? Anyway, I'll do my best to keep up with any concerns/complaints you guys have, but it will be extremely challenging so please either be patient or at least email me.

I wanted to include Slamdance in my list of Combiners, but 3 is so limiting.

Also just noticed that Prowl isn't in the list and as much as Swerve or Whirl would be more fun, it's Prowl.

Just picked the best names from the TF:TM soundtrack, looked through the movies and just... no.

I'm glad they have categories now! This narrows the focus a lot better than the previous crapshoot. For example, I was looking over the list and was shocked that Devastator had not actually got in, so this is a perfect opportunity. If I was them, I would further break it down just a little bit (maybe having separate categories for Autobots and Decepticons would be good?) but this is a step in the right direction. I also find it weird that the second two categories are "best" but the first is "favourite," I guess to keep things on a subjective level rather than deciding on an objective "best" ("I like Prowl" as opposed to "Prowl is better than Smokescreen" kind of thing). So, I voted accordingly!

Onslaught - It's a long shot but hey, they said "favourite."
Barricade (Movie) - Every year until it happens.
Galvatron - Rodimus is in there, Galvy should be too. Major force in both the cartoon and comics, doesn't have nearly enough cool toys on his own.

Combiners:
Bruticus - Look, we all know Devastator is going to win it. He's the "first" Combiner, and he's more unique than the others (thanks to his transformation, extra member and unified colour scheme) and he's getting a huge ass new toy this year, it's so obvious. So I'm going to play against type, mostly because Bruticus can--and did--beat Devastator's ass.
Rail Racer (JRX) - This brings up a lot of questions about what counts and doesn't count as a "combiner." Is God Fire Convoy a combiner? He's only two guys, but they combine. Is Powermaster Prime, who combines with his trailer but nothing else? Is JRX, who is distinctly three guys that come together in a unique way to form one singular entity? I say definitely with JRX.
D'Void - Joke answer.

The music one:
NRG - IMO, NRG had the most talent out of that entire soundtrack, and it's a shame because THIS IS THE ONLY THING THEY EVER DID. Well, okay, not entirely true, they did have a demo tape or something put together, and you can find weird rips of the CD rerelease from 2001 that have skipping and weird noises, but essentially, this song is ALL they EVER did...and it's the most amazing thing. I love these guys and I want them to get in so we can get a cool Botcon appearance/reunion, and maybe a new issue of their CD. (By the way, I covered the song in 2013 and both the guitarist and drummer from the band found it and said they liked it. I also never paid them any money.)
Spectre General (Kick Axe) - These guys deserve it. While being more accomplished than NRG (they had several albums as Kick Axe) they weren't as strong. Nothin's Gonna Stand In Our Way is a GREAT cover and their original version of Hunger is better than the one King Kobra or whoever did.
Black Lab--oh wait, you didn't use their awesome cover - Joke answer, but also serious because they should have used it in ALL the marketing for TF2007 and put it in instead of fucking Linkin Park.
