I haven't taken him apart, but from the break I can tell that Mindwipe's hips are like...well, they're like a lot of guys, probably why I'm having problems citing a specific example. His hip is connected to a joint that resides inside his crotch, right. Well, the rod that connects to the piece inside his crotch (all one piece of plastic) snapped off. Very odd.
Huh, weird. Sounds like a materials or manufacturing defect, definitely should try to get the store you bought it from to exchange it.
I would tell them, of course. I just really, really don't trust the guys who work at these Wal-Marts. I've had problems before. I've also never sent anything back to Hasbro directly, so I'd like to try that.
I have had about 3 out of 5 good experiences returning to Hasbro, 1 that netted me something I absolutely didn't want, and 1 that they couldn't guarantee me the item and it was too expensive to risk ($70) so I ended up putting the kibosh on the return. They will send you a return label, or maybe a plastic sheet envelope, so you don't have to pay postage.
Very true. I mean, admittedly, Hasbro sometimes doesn't seem to put as much effort into answering them, and we've tried before to be all awesome about intriguing and deep questions, and the results have sometimes been underwhelming. I think it's okay if we kind of phone in some questions here or there. I mean, my question there is pretty spoilery and probably will get a generic answer...but it's still something I'm interested in. I mean, I want to see what a G1 Movie Barricade would look like.
Yeah, I guess so. I get a little OCD about these things.

Are you saying you've returned BROKEN items that they've shelved, items that you TOLD them were damaged when you returned them? If they're just opened and not damaged, the store will try to sell it as it's standard merchandise.

As for reporting problem items already on shelves to employees, that does seem to be a different ball of wax. Since it was made a problem in-store, it's a different situation than a return, I see employees put stuff back on shelves like that too, especially swapped figures that I report. Some of my Star Wars guys have gone to managers only to find product back on shelves the next day. They should be reported to corporate for it.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

It might have been a question of missing parts. But, either way, the toys had unambiguous defects that I told the stores about. (I recally once or twice buying extra TFs owing to missing parts I would pull the parts out of the second copy, at times without removing all the ties. So I made certain I told them the toys were damaged.)

Part of me thinks "it is the store's problem". But, some customers might not know they are getting ripped off.

The round 10 answers are in:

(should I stop saying "the answers are in" when really it's "the vague, non-committal responses that don't entirely reflect what we asked are in"? ;))

Actually, that might not be a bad idea.

We are always interested in re-imagining all of the great characters throughout the Transformers lore, no matter what period/series they come from. Thus, our team really enjoyed Lockdown as a character and wanted to recreate him as if he existed in the modern day world. We will continue to pursue this line of design and development and in those circumstances where it makes sense to visit different styles, we certainly will do so.
What the hell does this even mean? Seriously. It tooke me to read-throughs to figure out that it was a definite maybe, sort of.

Oh, and what kind of car in the real modern world is Lockdown exactly?

I will actually give them the "wait and see" on the second question. We kind of deserved that one.

Dom
-of course, that does not balance out the dozen or so other questions that Hasbro has pretended to sort of answer.

Vague, phoned-in answers for vague, phoned-in questions I came up with on the spot. :P

An AWESOME one.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

It's corporate double-speak, and it's so generic that they have multiple answers this round that sound exactly the same.

Just a more realistic one, not an existing model.

Read the second ActionFigs.com answer:

I challenge you to find 4 clear, concise answers within the entire round. I'll even give you a freebie, the "no 5mm peg holes" from ActionFigs.
