Before MTMTE #16, I might have agreed with that, but MTMTE 16 made him feel even more like a dick than usual simply by showing the stuff he's been through that he talks about not being that big a deal. He's a mixed bag for me, he's a big deal but kind of a dink in general.
Barricade: I almost put him as my number 4 just to represent movieverse, but Bayformers is the only place he's been relevant.
How relevant is he really though? He tracks down Sam and harasses him, then... that's it. He becomes "Sir Not Appearing In This Battle" despite claiming to be on the way, then disappears entirely.
Knock out: See above but Prime instead of Bayformers.
If they make KO relevant this year, I can see voting for him next year maybe based solely on personality, but this year he's been relegated to the background too much, and his figure isn't that great.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

He did show up in the third one and killed a few Autobots (Not Wheeljack comes to mind).

Ravage - He is one of few characters that seems to transcend most continuities, yet doesn't feel overdone like some characters do. And he is my favorite cassettes. Glad to see him recently get a Masterpiece along with Soundwave. Can't wait for Hasbro to release it...

Jetfire - He's always been one of my favorite Autobots.

Devastator - Honestly, he isn't my favorite Gestalt, but he was the first in Transformers, and possibly the most popular among them. I feel that's worth recognizing.

Rattrap - He's one of the best characters in Beast Wars, and apparently he will be showing up in IDW's RiD series soon. And I'd love to see more Beast Wars characters recognized by the Hall of Fame.

Airazor - Ill admit, I think this is a long shot, but I think Transformers needs to recognize they have more female characters than Arcee and Blackarachnia.

Same here and after seeing him on yours and two other lists, I decided he's more iconic that Galvatron so I changed my vote. Galvatron can wait.

Is that really him and not one of his look-alikes? The movie sequels did that WAY too much, left me confused. If that's him, what a random fuckin thing, just appears out of nowhere after dicking around for the second half of M1 and ROTF.

Yeah, that one is on my short list, even over OPrimal.

Yeah that's him and that wasn't just you, many fans had complaints about that. In fact, I think that was one of the top complaints about DoTM was that Barricade just showed up out of nowhere.

Also, I added a post about my change in the voting thread.

I think ROTF broke fans when it came to knowing which Decepticons were which, all the shared modes with just different colors, the worst being Grindor, and there being no explanation. If Barricade didn't speak in DOTM, I don't think there'd be any way to know

Muchas gracias, it'll make a good example when others see it.

Wow, it didn't occur to me that there could be votes for any of the other Jetstorms, I have to be more careful about that sort of thing I guess.

He's the only one that really stands out to me as a character, so I thought I should specify.

Unlike most years, this year I'm going to just kind of vote alongside everyone else.

1. Barricade - I'm with Prowl. Dude needs in, and Hasbro needs to make a new toy of him.
2. Ultra Magnus - Because why not? Everyone else had good reasons.
3. Devastator - Dev is pretty damn iconic, and he's arguably "the" combiner. One of the best scenes in TFTM is still his.
4. Hot Rod/Rodimus - Current Autobot leader (sort of), Season 3 leader, showed up in a handful of alternate universes, and is the only Masterpiece (besides Sideswipe and Red Alert) to not even be nominated yet as far as I know.
5. Mirage - Mirage is a great character and he's a name that Hasbro fought REALLY hard to protect...and then seemingly let him disappear off shelves for a decade. I'd love it if Mirage's character could come back in in a big way, but we'll see.
JT wrote:Barricade, I still don't get it. The more movies we get, the less he does. He's mainly "the movie decepticon that spoke and interacted for a few moments" to me, and that's not Hall of Fame-worthy.
I guess part of it is...Sometimes fans latch onto a character from a previous series. Waspinator and Dinobot are key examples. Sky-Byte is another. Lockdown and Lugnut from Animated. Barricade is pretty much the most notable non-Megatron, non-Starscream Decepticon in all three of the movies, and he's, if nothing else, an original concept that hasn't been ruthlessly exploited in the rest of the franchise yet.
If Barricade didn't speak in DOTM, I don't think there'd be any way to know
He does, but he's voiced by Frank Welker.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.
