Bad. I was in a car accident yesterday (I'm ok, there were no injuries), but as result of it, I'm going to be in a bad enough financial state that I'm out of the hobby toy wise. I'm selling my entire toy collection. Everything. I'm out. Things will work out, but I have long tough time ahead.

Aw bro, what the hell? That sucks, didn't you have to do this once already? Even the insurance isn't gonna help? That effing sucks, seriously.

Damn, and I had a nice haul today too. My copy of The Complete All Hail Megatron was on my doorstep when I came home today, which made me extremely happy. Then I was out, and I grabbed Marvel Universe Jim Lee Cyclops (a seriously nice toy, the body on this thing is miles ahead of the Scarlet Spider I got in terms of both articulation and holding together) plus GI Joe Desert Battle Zartan, because O6 said he was really cool.

But damn, Shocktrek, that blows! Surely there's less desperate measures you can take, right?

I won't try to tell him that this is a bad idea or to convince him otherwise--his PM was more than enough to convince me that he's made up his mind about this. He's a big boy, he can make his own decisions.

And isn't he just? Although I'll readily admit, I gave mine the compound bow and quiver/arrows from the awesome old Comic Pack Zartan which 'doubles' his awesome. But the way the backpack holds his alternate head and fits onto his back is just great. The G-36 he comes with is one of the more standard issue Joe Weapons they've been putting with the PoC guys but its inclusion isn't hated, it's always been a cool gun.

Yeah, it sucks big time. Unfortunately the insurance won't help which is primarily why I'm having to sell everything, but there are deeper issues that have come to light because of this. Toys are an addiction for me and I can't handle it. The only reason I sold my collection before was to raise the down payment for my house and even then I didn't sell everything, just enough for the down payment. This time it must all go. I have to give up collecting toys. I'll still enjoy the TF hobby, but just in different ways.

Forgive me if you think it's prying or if any of this is in bad taste--but are you going to go through any formal therapy for this, at all? I realize that would also probably cost money but I've never actually seen anyone formally accept that their collecting is an addiction before, so it's a little bit...I dunno, I don't want to say "fascinating," but it's interesting. And it's making me think about my own habits as well. (Maybe we actually have a topic for our first podcast at this point.)

My parents mentioned it. I probably will if and when I can afford it. Kinda redefines the joke term "plastic crack". In my case not so funny.

A new phone. I am testing out a Metro PCS phone, and might replace my primary cell (which is simply breaking down from use/age at this point) with it. Failing that, I can always resell the phone, donate it, or use it for tinkering that I have been meaning to do.

Shockwave, I am very sorry to hear about what happened.

You hang in there. Glad to hear you're ok.

This week's comic haul: Transformers #24, Kid Flash Lost #3 and Action Comics #904. I also found JSA vol. 12, "Ghost Stories" for half price, so $8 instead of $15. I'd been trying to collect and read that series in order, but had to skip ahead for a bargain price.

Thank you everybody. Y'know in a world with so many stories about how awful people are to each other on the internet you guys have always been the ones that prove that wrong. I've always felt support and gotten help from you guys and it's why I like posting here so much.

Man. Shocky, what you've gotta do sounds rough, but if it improves your life, then it'll be well worth it. Hope everything goes well for you, big guy.
