TF Prime episodes

No noses? No problem! Zombiebots? Sure, why not. A confusing new canon that allows loose and contradictory material? And now a new sequel show with an entirely different art style that takes place way in the future!

I am now going to watch The Girl Who Loved Powerglide and imagine that during Powerglide's fight with the Coneheads, he tears Dirge's face off and calmly watches as he crumples to the ground, screaming in agony. Astoria looks on in awkward silence and abject terror.

AND THEN THEY GO ON THE MERRY-GO-ROUND!

....is TF Prime even for kids? I really don't get some TV these days. I think Buffy messed all worldwide TV executives' heads up. Like they only just learned there was such a market as Young Adult.
COME TO TFVIEWS oh you already did

Ok, you know a show is bad when you only catch the last 5 minutes of it and realize that you didn't miss anything! Seriously. I only caught the last 5. But in that 5, I saw Starscream attempt to kill Megatron, get caught by Soundwave, Skyquake's dogfight with a very inappropriately dressed for military arial maneuvres Fowler, and Ratchet's reactions to the kids' science projects. That literally told me absolutely everything I needed to know about the entire episode. Ugh. I too like the animation but I still don't care for the character models. The lack of noses really bothers me for some reason. It's like their faces are imcomplete. Creepy...

Anyway... Like Prowl, I don't know if I can keep this up. This may turn out to be another Armada for me. Which was the first TF show that I gave up on.

Yeah, that part really annoyed me with Prime saying Skyquake hadn't chosen a vehicle when the character model clearly already has a cockpit and wings on him. I can understand saving the time of animating two robot modes for him but what, he doesn't have a Cybertonian vehicle form to transform into? It also annoyed me how easily they took him out. Bumblebee rips some parts out, he crashes and now he's dead? Such a wasted opportunity to bolster the Decepticon ranks with more than just faceless drones.

Glad to see the kids got a backseat in this episode. But the whole science fair thing was so pointless to the plot, I really don't see that they even needed to be in the episode at all.

I could agree with this for the entire series actually. And really, now that I think about it I could actually agree with that for every TF series ever.

Good episode and lots of stuff that I liked in here.

* I hope SkyQuake isn't done for. He made a great entrance into the series and I immediately liked him.

* The kids were all just fine. Even Miko, who I know grated on some nerves during the pilot, was far from annoying.

* The science project sub-plot was funny! Ratchet getting hyped on helping the kids was just creepy/funny to see and I was laughing the whole time I saw Rad's volcano crackling with electricity. Then when it erupted- OMG!!

* The scene in space was very atmospheric in that quiet, tranquil way that I appreciate. And I like that Starscream ripped the dark energon out of Megatron. He's doing as much as anyone could expect to make sure his leader stays dead. Reminds me, I love his line, "And this time stay dead!"

* I liked that Starscream was ambitious but still warned his master of danger during the pilot movie. But I also like that, after seeing Megatron lose his faculties during the 5-parter, that he's not willing to let a crazed maniac return to life and take away his moment to shine. I kind of feel myself rooting for Starscream as he tries to keep Megatron from ever coming back to life.

* I liked that Prime tried to reason with Starscream and SkyQuake. This is the guy that's out there trying everything in his power to find peace. It really says something to me that they showed Prime extending the olive branch before busting out the big guns- something that they failed to show in ROTF.

* Something I noticed- Starscream says he'll consider talks of peace if Prime bows to him. If Prime bows, he's showing subservience to Starscream, who clearly is not his equal in rank or experience the way that Megatron was. If he refuses to bow, then he's denying any chance of talking peace. How to resolve this situation? Have SkyQuake disrupt the peace talks! Clever, clever.

Overall just a simple, solid episode. Good start for the regular series.

Quite honestly I don't care much for this series. Everything is just so... bland, from the story to the design of backgrounds. It's a shame, I was excited about a new TF series but if this is the most they will do, I'm not going to stick around. I wonder if they'll make it to a second season.

They will, because Hasbro is pumping tons of money into this. Hasbro has soldiered on with far worse before with no visible ill effects (Armada, Energon, ROTF). A mediocre or outright terrible media tie-in will not stop Hasbro from putting more money back into the very same machine--especially now that they own this network. I won't be surprised if Prime actually runs for five years or more.

I'm just concerned about what such a situation would mean for the toys...Hopefully they'll keep Generations around during it.

It's only 6 episodes in. I'm sure it's not ruined forever yet.

Hey, man, don't talk to me about being ruined in six episodes. I saw Energon! It happens, man!

I've never seen a TF series start off so promisingly and then so quickly turn to shit...

I liked Energon, but putting that aside at least it was edited correctly. Armada was edited about as well if not worse than G1.
