Re: Star Trek
Those teaser trailers are always frustrating. I'm trying to figure out who the villain is supposed to be. Gary Mitchell? Someone entirely new? Is the blonde girl Kirk is eyeing Carol Marcus? Janice Rand? There are some nice visuals of course, as is to be expected.
Re: Star Trek
Indeed. My money's on Gary Mitchell. I think the blonde girl is supposed to be the lady that was in that same episode, played by Sally Kellerman (I forget the character's name).andersonh1 wrote:Those teaser trailers are always frustrating. Whaaa? Dude, Bennerdick Cummerbuns shows up throwing a staff around and hitting people and talking all British-like, and we know he's playing Khan. There's no way he's not the villain.

They haven't actually revealed if Cumberbatch is going to be Khan or not. All we know for sure is that he's the villain of the film and supposedly his character is someone that has been in Star Trek before.

How is that dumber...? Khan would be a character that has appeared in Star Trek before as well.

Re: Star Trek
My 44 year old male Cousin is heavily into Star trek. I mildly think it's okay. I don't own anything star trek,no toys,no media,no nothing. if a trek movie is on free cable,i'll watch it if i'm very bored, but don't plan my time around trying to watch it.
I never liked how polite & all the manners they star trek media characters have. most of the time this is over done to the extreme levels. Star trek the next generation TV series was the worst offender of this. especially how overly polite, overly mannered & overly discipled they portrayed kids & teenagers in the almost all the star trek tv shows/movies.
I'm not a Data character fan. I think he's lame-o & dull. I prefer Spock,Khan & Worf as I think they have greatly fleshed out persona's with hidden windows of persona.
About the only Star trek movie I'd reccomend others to watch are as follows: Star trek 2 with kahn, generations, first contact & the newest semi-rebooted time altering newer star trek 1 movie, with the two spocks in it.
Yeah I thought that bald woman in the star trek motion picture was super hot. I also thought Uhurra in here 1960's age form was super hot. Dianna la troy in the early seasons of the next generation was hott.

That was Gene Roddenberry's ideal. He believed that in the future the human race would 'evolve' and no longer have any problems or conflicts.Tigermegatron wrote:I never liked how polite & all the manners they star trek media characters have. most of the time this is over done to the extreme levels. Re: Star Trek
True, and it's hard to fault the guy for having an ideal. It just made drama difficult. Hence the occasional introduction of outside characters to rub the regulars the wrong way (Shelby, Jellicoe), and the entire setup of DS9 and Voyager with characters that had conflicting goals and ideals so that drama was easier to create.Sparky Prime wrote:That was Gene Roddenberry's ideal. Re: Star Trek
I've been seeing reports that Alice Eve is indeed going to be Carol Marcus. Some reports are saying that Benedict Cumberbatch's character will be John Harrison, which goes against writer Robert Orci's comments that he's a character that has appeared in Star Trek before. But I haven't seen that anyone has confirmed either of these reports yet so, take with a grain of salt.
