Well I did say more or less, as yeah, there are some examples of bad toys in that run. But I would not list Prowl as one of them. Octane, Ratchet, Ironhide, Cheetor and Dinobot are all horrible though. What's wrong with Silverbolt and Onslaught? I seem to remember those actually being pretty decent?

The Classics 1.0 toy line was clearly superior to the 2.0/25th toy line.
I dis-like TF toys that are made in the wrong size scale & 2.0 had plenty of this. 2.0 Powerglide should have been a basic or deluxe toy. 2.0 Silverbolt & 2.0 Onslaught needed to be deluxe sized. 2.0 Cyclonus & 2.0 Galvatron should have been 8 inch ultra sized.
2.0 Prowl/Smokescreen/Silverstareak,2.0 Ironhide/Ratchet 2.0 Cheetor & 2.0 Dinobot were all awful.
I don't get why so many on-line fans hate the 2.0 Octane toy,it's a awesome Deluxe toy. The only complaint I have is it should have been Voyager sized.
I'm also not a fan of Hasbro/Takara doing homage new molds for the 1980's combiners team members & cancelling out their combiner tech.
I never liked that 1.0 Voyager Optimus toy. I think the Igear Faith Leader toy is the perfect scale to fit in with most Classics toys on display shelves.

My list is over half of Universe though. 10 deluxe new molds, I just said half are middling or worse (and 3 of them are reused in that same line at least once); 3 new Ultra molds and I'm arguing 2/3rds are middling or worse. There are no new Voyager molds so that line is plagued by repaints. Universe 2.0 doesn't hold up as well as advertised IMO.
Silverbolt is a middling figure, just a robot slapped to the underside of a vehicle, and that compromise isn't even because it's a combiner since it's not, it's bricky, underwhelming, and a lazy transformer. Onslaught is overrated, that figure is hollow, simple, and doesn't really suit the character all that well beyond a few basic touches, and again it's not even a combiner.
Prowl is really annoying because of how short that figure comes up without fully failing, so it gets praise despite being middling. The sculpt is soft, there's a cheapness to the look in both modes, the robot is scrawny, the shoulders don't really have anywhere to exist that feels solidly like part of the body, and the paint looks really knockoff-y. All that and yet it's not so bad that there are calls for a new Prowl, which is sad. There's just a pervasive shittiness about the figure that keeps it from being cool, everything that was exciting about the G1 figure is lost on the Universe one.

I totally disagree about Prowl. Personally, I love that mold. The alt mode is actually an updated version of the original that Nissan currently makes which is a nice touch Hasbro didn't have to add and the shoulders have worked fine on all of the ones I have (the trick is what to do with the door wings in bot mode). And I haven't had any that really had any paint problems.
Onslaught's legs are hollow, but the rest is still pretty solid. And I think the choice of alt mode was a decent update without outright copying the original figure. I also see what you mean about Silverbolt and you're right but here's where that argument fails is that the original figure was basically a robot strapped to the bottom of a jet and the purpose of the new one was to be an updated version of that same toy. The robot has decent articulation and sculpting which really is all it needed to do.

Onslaught rules, but I'm biased. Prowl is exactly as JT says though--I've hated his enormous raised head ever since pics hit, and JT nailed it about the shoulders--they're always just kind of floating there. Galvatron sucked too.

So now it's a callback to a cover that was a parody of another cover, REALLY?!? That's too fucking meta.
With Megs there, I'm hoping former Decepticons join the cause. Cyclonus was interesting last go-round, but there weren't enough other non-Autobots on the ship - I don't want the ship to be a civil war, just that this is the brave new world where they have to figure out how to get along and move forward.

The sad thing is that most TF fans will only get the cover as a reference to the cover of "More the Meets the Eye" #1.
As for Decepticons on the Lost Light, any word on what is happening with Blitzwing? He is clearly shown in the crowd scene at the end of "Dark Cybertron". He was specifically loyal to Megatron in one of the prologue issues. And, he was one of the Decepticons shown to be more comfortable working with Autobots buring "Dark Cybertron".

Soundwave was also shown in that scene but was also shown to be joining Galvatron's Decepticons. Again with the inconsistent art.

What's going on with Grimlock in the IDW TF G-1 themed comics, minus Regeneration? Whats he been up to all this time? Is he still alive? Dead? Badly damaged? MIA? In hiding? Is he hanging out with his Dinobots teammates?
