There is a huge difference in these situations. We've see the Power Rings are capable of amazing feats. It is not a stretch to believe a power ring from Death itself would be capable of this. In Transformers however, we've seen Transformers rebuilt good as new from much more serious injuries and as such, Perceptor's sudden change requires more explanation than just 'he got hurt and now he's different'.

And I don't think it's so much that they come back evil, rather it's suggested some manifestation of Death itself is animating the Black Lantern bodies and controlling them.
But why would she do that? D:

Oh, yeah, and to re-rail the thread.
I went to Otakon, which is one of the largest anime/geek/nerd conventions in North America. And there was swag. Oh, there was swag. So here's what I got.
-ROTF Ravage. Actually bought him before the trip. Intended to buy Sideswipe, but he wasn't there. Not the greatest toy, but eh, robot death kitty. Then my friend Alan put a hilarious voice and personality to him and I love it. He's Joe Blow Movie Goer and thinks ROTF was awesome and Michael Bay is the king of directors. He argued with Backstop, who pointed out plot holes.
-Titan's Marvel G1 Matrix Quest TPB. Figured I may as well start getting this stuff, particularly since I've never actually read most of the issues from the end run of G1.
-Third Sandman TPB. Glad I bought it there, because it was cheaper (it and Matrix Quest were $25 together) because it's only four issues long.
-Trigun Maximum volumes 5-8. I am a sucker!
-Rurouni Kenshin volumes 16 & 17. A huge sucker!
-Zelda: Oracle of Ages manga. The biggest sucker you know.
-Several game band CDs: the new release from This Place Is Haunted, a chiptune Guilty Gear cover album, and two four-track EPs from Rare Candy. Also bought and listened to the Mega Ran 9 album from Random, but it was for Alan so now I don't have it.
Then when I returned, I had to buy a bunch of shit to get my car inspected. Grumble Grumble!

She? Who says this manifestation of Death is a she? But anyway, it has been explained Death is pissed off that so many have escaped death to be alive again and Death wants them back, and is using the un-dead Black Lanterns to accomplish this. Death wants everyone dead.

I haven't read anything he has written, but anyway, there are several manifestations of Death in the DC universe that could be in control of the Black Lantern corps that aren't necessarily female, such as Nekron for example.

Taking this over to the "comics are awesome" thread.

I can't help wondering if they're going to cover this in an upcoming "Spotlight" issue. Initially I had thought it was just that universe's Perceptor and that he was just that bad ass, until Jazz shouted "When the hell did HE turn into mr. bad ass sharpshooter?" Oh well.
Also, seriously, what's a Shockphone?
