And it's not like I can use him to build a Legion of Doom, since I have no intention of getting all the toys to build Gorilla Grodd and Giganta, Brainiac's an online-exclusive, and I've got the wrong Sinestro anyway. The hell! It's easy to see why Manta's shelfwarming though; aside from his head, he is literally the basic DCUC body in ALL black! No paint apps at all. I mean, I know it's accurate to the character, but they could've...tried...something, I don't know. And even then they still couldn't paint the head right. I got the ONE out of SIX at Target who had a decently painted head. But I still like him, because he's Black Manta, which counts for more awesomeness in my book than you'd know.

I'm slowly but surely building a DCU Legion of Doom (the "Superfriends" version). All I lack is Giganta (who'll be a BAF in a coming wave), Scarecrow (who for some reason I skipped a couple of years ago), Cheetah (no current plans that I know of, but I think the Horsemen are doing these guys on purpose, so I'm hopeful), Toyman (ditto), and Captain Cold (out any time now as part of Wave 7). My Legion of Doom is currently battling my DCU Superfriends characters in front of my old Super Powers Hall of Justice. *glows with magnificent nerdy pride*

Marvel TF Iron Man (War Machine) - Hasbro didn't even bother to call this "Stealth Iron Man" or anything, the original repaint was I guess supposed to be the silver Mk 2 armor but the production design is black & silver, which means "War Machine". Decent fig, alt mode could be a little better in the sculpting but holds together and minimal kibble. Transformation is a good one, clever without being too busy. Bot mode is satisfying, a good interpretation and a good bot from jet mode, stuff gets put away or used for once, rather than just kibbilizing. Articulation decent but a little hampered by ratchets with odd points.

Star Wars The Legacy Collection Obi-Wan Kenobi - great-looking figure, finally looks right, and can sit down. Right hand can't hold saber, but what can ya do?

Star Wars The Clone Wars Magnaguard - good sculpt and paint, good articulation except for the legs which only have hip articulation. Legs are in a simple 1-foot-forward pose which fights free-standing, and causes gummy limb syndrome (aka, it bends and falls).

Sansa Clip 1gb MP3 player - does subscription music, voice records, even does FM with FM recording. Nice and small, easy to use standard interface, integrated clip would be nice if I needed it (I don't, it's for the car).

Well you're doing better than me. I just don't want all the guys neccessary for the BAFs (although I did manage to get all of Solomon Grundy). Maybe I'll try to score a secondhand Grodd and Giganta off Ebay later down the line. Same for Brainiac (It's the Superfriends version and everything!). Hell, at that point I might as well track down the non-variant Sinestro. And I'll definitely agree that it seems like they're doing these guys on purpose, we're getting way too many of these guys in a row for it to be a coincidence. *Rather excited for Captain Cold*

Wait this is out now. Dammit.

I got a new SD card for my camera since my old one died. Yay the videos for YouTube!

"All Hail Megatron" has not shown up in Boston, to my intense annoyance.

This weekend, I completed "Shattered Expectations" Thundercracker. (Pics up soon.)

And, I made a "Combat Heroes" Serpentor with an arrow through his noggin.

Finally, I snagged a few books, including a lunatic conspiracy theory about the Romanovs surviving.

Is that like fanfiction where Brawn and Ratchet survive the assault on the shuttle?

No, this is even worse, if only for being completely tasteless. The basic idea is that either Yurovsky (head of the execution and burial team) or one of his subordinates was actually a US agent (because Cold War espionage shenanigans started in 1918 apparently) and many of his men were actually loyal to the Czar. They managed to over-power the (relatively few) Bolsheviks guarding the Czar, replacing him and his family with bodies from a local morgue.

Now, I can believe a few guards shot each-other, given the mixture of guns and booze that night. (Yurovsky being a drunkard and such.) But, there is a huge difference between saying, "I suppose there could have been an incident with guns", and saying that there was a successful conspiracy to save the Romanvs.

See, if I wanted pure idiocy, I'd just read Final Crisis.

TF:A Samurai Prowl - a mix of new and old parts, a new sidecar, the blade star gimmick is taken away, the deco is simplified, but the sculpt is a bit improved (your tastes may vary on the head). Still suffers the alt mode alignment issues of the first figure. Transformation is the same until you snap the sidecar backpack on, then you fold a few parts over, it's simple but works. Bot mode looks decent, accurate, with the armor, and the sword/shield ain't so bad. Articulation is the same overall except improved at the legs a bit, armor hampers the shoulder articulation. A mixed bag, but more good than bad.

Star Wars Titanium Series Virago - very nice overall, a lighter silver color than previous versions but generally pleasing. Sculpting is mainly fine, although the engines at the base of the wings are lacking their required detail. Wings easy to pull out and guns slightly tipped down, but otherwise fine.

SW TS Neimoidian Shuttle - A decent sculpt, but not enough metal, and they made the legs immobile in "landed" pose. Stranger still, they made the cockpit open when it doesn't in the film, seems pointless. Good paint though, but a bit small and underwhelming.
