My point was moreover that, while Fort Max could *perceivably* act as a spaceship, it'd probably feel somehow more cop-outty than Omega Supreme. Because HE IS OMEGA SUPREME.

Well, I have to wonder how you're going to feel about the ongoing comic, then, seeing as it looks like it's going to trash everything in continuity anyway. Yes, they say it's going to stay in the old continuity, but I just don't see that happening.

BM was a different situation--they were specifically reformatted to be techno-organic. This, I don't even see there being an explanation for why everyone looks different now. (There wasn't one in AHM, either, but I cared less because they at least looked like Transformers still. And I prefer my Seekers to be F-15s anyway.)

Me too, especially since they're largely still in use today. More so than the Raptor anyway.

I prefer it just because I think Raptors look stupid. Now, the thing Jetfire is, that rules.

Well, the technoorganic thing doesn't explain why the Vehicons looked totally different from every Transformer ever.

These guys in the Ongoing still look like TFs, to me. Honestly, the only remotely large change is the more detailed faces.

That said, while I like it, I don't know what posessed IDW to impliment such a change for their big, important, new ongoing series. They should know by now that doing stuff like this is one of the best ways to piss off the fandom.

I think that since ROTF is the big, visible face of Transformers right now that an attempt is being made to visually tie the series into the movie, at least to some extent, in the hopes of drawing in the audience who are familiar with the live action films but not necessarily the G1 figures or characters.

I'm not too fond of the new facial style, but I do like Don Figeroa's art. I think I'm going to jump back onboard the comics when the ongoing series starts. Maybe I'll subscribe and hope for a price break, since price is really the big thing that put me off the comics. I enjoyed the content, but it's been a year or more since I last bought a Transformers comic. Maybe longer. It's the simplest thing that sold me too. One of the preview panels I saw had Breakdown drawn in a style similar to Universe Sunstreaker/Sideswipe. Being the big Stunticon fan that I am, and a fan of that figure, I'd like to see if they actually do anything interesting with the Stunticons.

I'm passing on the ongoing. The art sucks, and the story doesn't sound like it's going to be anything good, either.

A year since you bought them, though? Why didn't you buy AHM, the best TF story ever?

I think it would be cool if it worked like on Dr. Who where each character only gets 13 regenerations and then they're done. Not including repaints. Plus that would explain all the differences in their appearance. I fully expect the asthetic to change 4 issues into it. probably back to Classicsesque.

Probably longer. It was a combination of the $4 price per book and the distance over to the comic shop, which is all the way across town. I just wasn't motivated. That's why I'm considering a subscription, in addition to hoping it'll be cheaper than retail. I'll let the post office do the driving for me.

I have browsed AHM in trade paperback form, and I like what I see well enough, so I may pick that up at some point. At least there are bookstores close enough that it's worth driving there to get trade paperbacks. I'm interested in Maximum Dinobots as well.

How does it look like it'll trash everything in continuity? From what Costa said in his interview about it with CBR, it doesn't sound like it'll trash anything. It takes place 3 years after AHM, Earth has rebuilt but humans still don't trust Cybertonians regardless of the faction they belong to due the events of AHM, giving the Autobots good reason to continue using their Earth disguises. Sounds like the ongoing will be working with the established continuity to me, even if that means including the terrible AHM storyline.
