Also, I haven't read Issue 5 yet but from the solicitations and some of the upcoming covers, I'm getting the idea that the other six Robot Masters are going to be working alongside Mega Man to fight Oil Man and Time Man, which will let them have some more character moments. That's another trend that's been going on in "post-modern" MM media (like Mega Man Megamix) is to keep the Robot Masters alive and rebuild them as Good Guys--or at least the initial six Light RMs--and have them stick around and occasionally do stuff.

I'd like to see some of the MM9 bosses show up in the background to forshadow their eventual heel turns.

As for the original characters issue--if they keep it in check it won't be horrible. The Sonic comics didn't so much have a problem with that--remember, the Original Characters from that all initially came from the Sonic SatAM cartoon, so they weren't so much original as they were from the cartoon. All the other guys added to it were, like, Silver The Hedgehog from the recent games.

Sorry, the main one I think of is Scourge the evil green Sonic clone, who I still can't believe exists.

Or like, all those extra fucking Echidnas that popped up in the Knuckles books in the 90's.

I think part of my issue with a Time Man/Oil Man arc is that I was kinda looking forward to them getting to the MM2 stuff, and now we have to wait through this before those guys show up. How are they going to handle Bubble Man? Like the joke he's mostly treated as these days, or will he turn out to be a badass or something? This is the sort of thing I look forward to seeing in this comic!

Hyadain is a funny, proactively original individual. The Megas are an average garage band appealing to the basest of the "we luv vidya gamez and metul" set.

I got the compilation for the first Mega Man story arc, and I really dig that they have character profiles in the back for all the robots. I hope this continues through all the others, so that eventually there's profiles for all the Robot Masters.

How was "Infinite Crisis" all about nothing having meaning? I thought someone like you would find tons of meaning in that story.

I was talking about "Final Crisis".

Because it looks like everything's all different in Action Comics, and from what I understand everything's all different in Justice League, but GL and Batman have the same stuff. So it's like, half reboot? Or maybe all the Superman stuff still happened, but his early years are different? I dunno, I really don't. GL can kind of get away with it, because so much of the stuff takes place in space, but I have no idea how they'll explain three or four Lanterns from Earth without all those years of continuity. Chalk it up to stuff we'll see what happens with.

"Action Comics" and a few of the others are set ~5 years back. This is like that year after CoIE, only messier, with nobody (including we can guess the writers and editors) being completely sure about what is still being counted or not.

This is probably wise, really. Why fuck up "The Killing Joke", a book by a big-name comics writer that has a kind of timeless appeal and is a regular seller for DC? I guess if the crippling never happens, then Killing Joke's right up there with Dark Knight and the like, stuff that is good, but clearly never happened in main continuity, but apparently DC ain't willing to burn that bridge yet.

DC said not to call it a reboot after they announced the relaunch months ago. Why are people suddenly surprised to find it isn't a reboot when they told us it wouldn't be?

If Cybertron is painful for the Autobots to be on, then why do they show no indication of it and it wasn't even mentioned until about half way through the series?
