Hasbro's Masterpiece Rodimus Prime
Re: Hasbro's Masterpiece Rodimus Prime
I certainly like the Sideburn idea better than Black Rodimus: He's one bad mother Shut yo mouth!
Re: Hasbro's Masterpiece Rodimus Prime
I'd get Nemesis Sideburnimus Prime if he was named Blackburn. British thing.

It doesn't 'work,' though. The Hot Rod Repainted As Speedbreaker thing is 'only' working with TFCC Sideburn because that mould has the engine on the chest, and is already awesome. MP Rodimus...isn't.

Man, I dunno. While it's true that when there's danger all about, Rodimus is a cat that won't cop out, I don't think that this particular machine can be accurately described as a sex machine to all the chicks. And his transformation might be complex, I don't think he's a complicated enough man that no one understands him but his woman.Shockwave wrote:I certainly like the Sideburn idea better than Black Rodimus: He's one bad mother Shut yo mouth!
In short, I'm gonna say a Hot Rod isn't quite the same as a cool Shaft. Right on.
Worth pointing out that, while I don't plan on buying this thing, I do gotta say the deco on it looks really good. Not just a black Rodimus, a Rodimus repaint that has black in it, but some other really cool paint apps.
As for the character behind it, I think a backstory along the lines of "Rodimus thought this'd be a fun paintjob for awhile" would be okay.

Fire convoy needs god mangus as they combine. so giving god magnus the matrix while he went away on a mission wouldn't be wise. as he'd need god magnus's power in combined mode for the away mission.Onslaught Six wrote:...This is the dumbest idea I've 'ever' heard. Speedbreaker was a young asshole who had *no* leadership potential, at all. He has no reason to ascend to being a Prime. If anyone would get Fire Convoy's Matrix Shard, it'd be God Magnus.Tigermegatron wrote:WHAT WOULD THE STORY BE? CR/RID optimus got old or heavily damaged or had to go away on a mission. while CR/RID Optimus is away/healing/whatever,he gives the matrix to CR/RID Speedbreaker to be the temporary leader while he's away/healing/whatever.
If fire convoy was damaged & healing or MIA. It might be a safe bet to assume, god magnus would be damaged to because they might have been in combined mode. if fire convoy was MIA then god magnus might be MIA as they might have been together in combined mode.
Speedbreaker is the CR/RID alternate universe/reality equivelant of hotrod In the G-1 universe. same as how AEC Hotshot is the alternate universe/reality EQUIVELANT of Hotrod+bumblebee fusion in the G-1 universe.
Idw made bumblebee the leader of the on-going G-1 TF comic. so I don't see why Speedbreaker can't be the leader of the autobots for a temporary basis/time in the CR/RID alternate universe/reality.
Re: Hasbro's Masterpiece Rodimus Prime
Buuuuuuuut.... you're forgetting the story. God/Ultra Magnus didn't stick around with Optimus all the time and was off on his own doing Magnus stuff for a long time before showing up to attack Optimus and steal the matrix. So giving him the Matrix actually would make more sense. I guess. Maybe not. I actually could see that working as a pretty good story. Prime goes off to do Prime stuff somewhere, leaving the Matrix to Sideburnimus Prime and Magnus gets pissed and tries to kill him because he get screwed out of it again.

I'm just confused as to how Speedbreaker could be considered as having an 'Ice' color scheme. I mean, those are pretty clearly flames on his vehicle mode. Blue flames, like, the really hot kind? His RiD name was Side *BURN*?

Red+orange colors are fire colors. blue+white are ice colors.BWprowl wrote:I'm just confused as to how Speedbreaker could be considered as having an 'Ice' color scheme. I mean, those are pretty clearly flames on his vehicle mode. Blue flames, like, the really hot kind? His RiD name was Side *BURN*?

Because that's really uncreative and arguably out of character (just as IDW making Bumblebee leader was).Tigermegatron wrote:Speedbreaker is the CR/RID alternate universe/reality equivelant of hotrod In the G-1 universe. same as how AEC Hotshot is the alternate universe/reality EQUIVELANT of Hotrod+bumblebee fusion in the G-1 universe. In truth, I don't see a "line of succession" in Car Robot at all. And if there had to be a New Leader, I'd much rather it was, I don't know... all three Autobot Bros working together. Obviously there'd need to be a bunch of new Autobots to follow them, but whatevs. Let's have a Prime Trinity! They could even travel... IN CONVOY

Re: Hasbro's Masterpiece Rodimus Prime
God Magnus is the obvious choice for successor though. He's Prime's Bro. And if Prime dies, he should get it.
Prime wouldn't need to give up his Matrix Shard for some kind of dumb "away mission," or whatever. G1 Prime never did that; LioConvoy and Big Convoy didn't do it either. In fact, one could very much argue that the entirety of Car Robots IS an "away mission."
