Re: Anybody give a crap about the movie line right now?

Indeed, it couldn't even stand on it's own most of the time. I actually got HA Barricade completely because of O6's review.

That's what convinced me to buy the figure. I was pretty much going to skip the first movie line entirely, but the Mustang was just too good to miss.Mako Crab wrote:I'm just in love with his car mode. I love that mustang all painted up like a cop car. Very swank.
Tell me I'm wrong though. That line is choking the toy aisles with its pegwarming dead right now, and has so little to do with the new show that I can't see a connection between the show's ratings and the toy's sales (even if both were to do poorly).Dominic wrote:That sort of optimism is unlike you JT....Days, judging by its current performance at market.
It figures, they won't say anything bad about the TF movie but the GI Joe movie that at least some fans liked is getting crapped on.A friend of mine talked to a Hasbro rep at BotCon, and the rep said that *Habro* was not exactly proud of the movie.
The HA is actually quite a bit better, depending on what you're looking for. The robot mode on the HA is much less crappy than the deluxe version, it may just be that you don't like the character because of that awful deluxe bot mode.Mako Crab wrote:My thing about Barricade is that I already have a Barricade toy. It's pretty awesome. Then along comes a new version- exact same toy except this time he had the 911 decal on the side. But I wasn't about to drop another $10 on the exact same toy over one decal. So when I see HA Barricade, and it looks, more or less, like the exact same toy- just bigger- AND it's missing the 911 decal again, AND it's $40, I feel less motivated to buy it. I should have mentioned that I've never bothered transforming my Barricade. I don't like his robot mode, but I love his vehicle mode.So any added details or articulation to his robot mode don't interest me in the least.
Is the context being merged though? Jazz does not look to be connected to the movie in any way.So, what's the thinking on the movie line being merged with Generations to create "Reveal the Shield"? That's what seems to be happening now. I suspect Dom's head is going to explode when he sees the packaging bios merge those universes.
Been hectic for me as well.Sorry to do this "month later" response thing, I've had a bad last month.
All the Reveal the Shield bios I've seen so far, 2 toys from the movie line and 2 from a Generations-style situation, are self-contained entries that are basically generic enough to be taken any way you want, but the fact that the line is merging the products means this is basically TF:Universe all over again.Dominic wrote:Is the context being merged though? Sorry to hear it.Been hectic for me as well.
