I have conquered Mixmaster! I just got him back into vehicle mode. Still don't know about his battle mode, I was toying around with a fanmode that lets him use his wheels, but he looks pretty funny.

Well the Black Rings don't actually bring the dead back to life.... The Black Lanterns are undead zombies after all. And I don't think it's so much that they come back evil, rather it's suggested some manifestation of Death itself is animating the Black Lantern bodies and controlling them.
See, I thought of that, but then there's the whole "But Elongated Man still acts and talks like Elongated Man" thing, so how does that figure in? Never mind that Ralph shouldn't even have his stretching powers, unless his corpse was buried with a bottle of Gingold which his zombie hastily consumed upon resurrection.

The black rings are just a new power source that's pumping "life" into the same brain, so the zombie would keep the same mannerisms?
Why am I trying to figure this out now?
I could see someone burying Ralph with Gingold, though. "One for the road, buddy" or like that. Did he still have to drink that stuff even after his powers kicked in, though? I'd have thought it'd be explained these days as "It activated his metagene" or like that...

Y'know, I actually thought of that right after I posted, but decided to leave it, because the question's still valid when you think about it.

"Activated his Metagene" actually was the exact explaination, but he still had to drink the stuff whenever he wanted to activate his powers (See: Right before his death in 52). Of course, if the stuff was in his system when he died, I guess it's possible that it'd still be present when he was resurrected. And since he's a zombie, I guess whatever metabolical process passed the stuff out of him isn't doing that anymore, so he'll just keep on stretchin'.
...
Dammit, how did I end up answering my own question ten minutes later?

Just testing to see if anyone else was on the ball?
Plastic Man apparently drinks Gingold, too, according to one story. I tell you, though, if there was a soda that gave the drinker stretchy powers, I'd buy that stuff by the case.
Anyway, it probably wouldn't still be there when he resurrected, because, y'know, embalming. But it's probably best not to worry 'bout it overmuch.

Why wouldn't it figure in? As 138 Scourge suggested, I figure the dead body still retains their memories and mannerisms from before they died and the Black Ring provides the corpse with "life", for lack of a better term, to reanimate them despite still actually being dead.
As for why Elongated man has his powers, like you said, perhaps the serum was still in his system when he died, and as a corpse it wont leave his body. Or it could also be another effect his Black Ring is providing for him.

Hey, I just realized something. Ted Knight (Starman) died in orbit, and in such a way as to leave absolutely no body.
Please, you guys, tell me there's no zombie Starman.

As far as I know, there is not.

For some reason, James Robinson was able to get a contract that largely protects characters he wrote in the 90s "Starman" series. If the death of Ted Knight was written by Robinson, likely he will be left out of the latest "ruin the c-listers" fest.
Of course, Robinson's characters are still in context with the rest of DC.

Sparky, I find it curious that you can concoct and accept vaguely BS-ish explainations like this, but still can't buy "Perceptor got hurt bad and was rebuilt into a sharpshooter". Seriously?
