So...you were a squealing fangirl who wanted to see Silverbolt in two panels?Sparky Prime wrote:So basically your saying its your opinion that they should have either done something completely different with the show characters or not at all? That's fine, but personally, "Gathering" is exactly what I wanted. Something that connects with the show, yet doesn't screw up the events we saw. As I said before, I felt "Gathering" had a lot of potential with what they could do next but was disappointed with what they actually did. Given how fast the BW show was wrapped up, I think there is certainly some room for interpretation there. Not to mention they could have done something like showing us how exactly Waspinator made it back to Cybertron. Would have been cool if he had hitched a ride with the comic characters. But unfortunately Furman did a rehash of the Omega Point instead.Onslaught Six wrote:The point is if they wanted to use show elements in the comic, then either go full-on and branch off to a new continuity where you're free to screw with stuff (Even if the new continuity is 'distinctly' Oh Shit Magmatron Fucked Things Up) or don't use the show characters 'at all.'

Re: Your demands for ROTF
And that's precisely my point.
If they were going to do crap like that, then ditch the chronological displacement BS and just do it outright. Mess with the status quo a little bit. Rock the boat, dammit. It just doesn't get rocked enough in TF.
Animated's doing it. Be more like Animated, Horrible BW Comics.

Doesn't get rocked enough? You need to read more of the convention comics....
I still like the BW comic was in continuity with the cartoon.

Re: Your demands for ROTF
The convention comics are generally crap and do nothing to actually rock the boat of TF status quo. Yay, Transtech exists now, and it's populated by guys like Alts Tracks and BM Thrust and Signal Lancer.
Wait, what am I saying? That's awesome.
But they still suck most of the time.

The convention / club comics ARE the frickin' boat, as far as I'm concerned.
A badly written and drawn, self-congratulatory ouroboros of a boat.

Re: Your demands for ROTF
I never said anything about them being good. But they have given us thing like Dimension hopping that open up a whole bunch of ways they can 'rock the boat'. A TF "Mirror Universe". Transtech....Onslaught Six wrote:The convention comics are generally crap and do nothing to actually rock the boat of TF status quo. Re: Your demands for ROTF
Except the guys doing the dimension-hopping are one-dimensional combiner limb guys who suck.
Also, RANDOM MIRROR UNIVERSE LOL isn't cool at all, or fun or anything. That's why the mock-G2 comic was so good--it 'knew' that its concept was horrible, and had fun with it.

Random mirror universes are the tiniest kind of waves you can make in the post-90s comic book world.

Mirror universes are always fun. An evil Optimus who isn't named Nemesis for once. Rodimus with evil goatee. Decepticons who are the good guys. All fun.
