I've got a whopping two GoBots in my collection. If I find more of the things around, I could see picking more up, though.

Hell, a few months back I came close to buying a bunch of Rock Lords on ebay. I'd probably have done it, but I really only wanted Slimestone, even if the other guys were kind of cool in their way.

Ok, so this is pretty amazing: Tux, awesome as he is, was originally cast in black, not white. His actual animated debut wasn't Challenge of the Gobots, but the Machine Robo anime, Revenge of Cronos, where he appears in this earlier colour scheme... as a functioning hearse. Suddenly, the tophat doesn't mean "old-fashioned thug", but "undertaker". Suddenly, Tux is dark as sh!t.

Powermaster hearse!Tux with dead Nebulan

needs to happen

i'm sorry

but it does

Dom used to write fanfic back in the day, y'know, and I actually thought it was pretty good.

But then... fanfic beat up his dad or something, and he hates it now. I dunno.

Powermaster hearse Tux would be awesome. Can he have a more appropriate name? Also, if the Nebulon is dead, then how does it power anything? Is it UNdead?

My initial theory was that the Nebulan had just died.. like.. from exhaustion, or maybe getting mangled in Tux's workings, but he kept it around out of habit. And I guess in my mind I'm going on some version of Powermasters where the Nebulan just grants *extra* power, and isn't necessary to basic functions.

But hey, have at a better name. He was called Stretch in the Gobots cartoon. =/

One thing I really don't recall about the Gobots cartoon is the characters having much personality, despite the fact the storyline got pretty flippin' high concept later on, with "Old Gobotron" and "the Last Engineer", all that stuff. But the personalities? It never even seemed to have the basic tropes that TF did. Anyone got a better memory of this than me?

Crasher was a bit sadistic and saw Turbo as her rival... Turbo was macho... Scooter was cowardly... Cop-Tur was stupid... Anything else? There were a LOT of Gobots, after all. =/

I'm thinking I might need a project, and Tux might need an update.

I'm thinking I might grab that $4 Hubcap from Marshalls tonight, if it's still there. I'm thinking I'll repaint him, and give him a tiny bowtie and a short tophat (short so it still transforms).

As for the dead Nebulon, maybe Tux could gain power from decay in some way? Like, maybe he keeps a body until it's completely decayed, and then gets another one?

*shrug*

Trying to think of an alternate name for him. Tricky. I honestly think "Tux" is quite a scary name.

What are some things associated with undertaking? Shroud? Surplice? Coffin? "Coffin" is not a great name.

Seriously gonna consider doing a one-page scary!Tux comic soon. Maybe just one image of him imbibing a dead body. Yeahhh, *imbibing*. Sounds awful when I put it like that, right?
