My body's stronger than a stick, but you could still punch a hole in me with a stick if you tried hard enough. I dunno, I'm not really defending this issue since I haven't bought or read it. I guess the TFs durability is about as consistent as their scale is.Sparky Prime wrote:Taking Mixmaster and Hook's comments from AHM in tandem, it seemed to me that they weren't referring to the materials architecturally, but rather, just that those materials were weaker than what they prefer to use. That suggests to me Cybertronian alloys are stronger than steel. That being the case, why wouldn't their bodies be stronger than steel?Shockwave wrote:Besides, the Constructicons were probably just referring to "inferior" from an arcitectural perspective.

What I mean is that the acid *really* seemed to hurt Scrapper. For such a small quantity to cause that much apparent pain, (so as to distract/ncapacitate Scrapper longenough for the beams to fall on him) is odd.

That's not a fair comparison. Flesh is considerably easier to damage all things considered. But if the Transformers consider steel to be a weak material to build with, that should mean the metals they use and conceivably are made out of are significantly stronger.138 Scourge wrote:My body's stronger than a stick, but you could still punch a hole in me with a stick if you tried hard enough. Steel beam's gonna be harder than a stick, too. Probably not as pointy, but just sayin'.
The last sentence in my previous post was the main part of my point though.

I think what many of us are arguing is that it's not just the basic strength or weakness of the material, it's how it hits you as well and the beams apparently hit Scrapper at the right angle and on the right spots to do serious damage. Also, if you had 100% hydrochloric acid sprayed on your leg, you'd feel it and it would hurt. Then, if it was sprayed into your face you'd really be disoriented. Personally, I see nothing in this issue as being unplausible.
Re: Transformers - ongoing series
Sparky's gripe can be summed up as "considering how dangerous and durable TFs are often shown to be, Scrapper gets jobbed really easy".
I have to agree with his general point on this, if not the details. Scrapper is a member of a species that is know to live and thrive in dangerous environments. Spike really takes him out a bit too easily.
Like I said, it does not bother me as much as my posting in this thread might indicate. And, when I read the last 2 issues all the way through, I will likely have other things to talk about. But, Scrapper's jobbing is an issue.

I think this was more about Spike's enginuity than Scrapper being weak. Spike planned this. And planned it well.

We still don't know that Scrapper is dead. Clearly, that's Spike's intent, but until we get the next issue and the other Constructicons are walking around going, "Man, it sure sucks without Scrapper here, since he's dead and all," I'm going to assume he's just in some kind of stasis lock.

That's a good point. After Thundercracker, I think it's a bad idea to just assume that any TF is dead without some blatant confirmation.Onslaught Six wrote:We still don't know that Scrapper is dead.
