Seeing as I'm basing my story on the toyline's canon, by that logic, you must admit that Buzzsaw isn't male. But hey, you might say, Buzzsaw isn't definitely female, either. So surely it's the writer's prerogative to choose a gender, considering BW is a series in which the characters have genders? And why shouldn't I choose female? You don't strike me as sexist, so your problem must be the idea that I'd only be making Buzzsaw female for "affirmative action"; solely in order to increase the number of female BW characters.
Well, here's a shocker: You'd be right!

I liked it.
Hey, remember when you did that to our boss?
Good times.

Either way, there is a difference between scanning an alternate mode and absorbing all of its functionality. Why would Inferno be blind when he has functioning scanners?
I dunno, it seems to work out well for the ants. Plus, the idea of a dude going around with a flamethrower and not being able to see a damn thing is kind of appealing, and actually kind of suits Inferno's show characterization.

I'm gonna have to side with Scourge on this one...
(S)He'd only be blind in ant mode, though, wouldn't (s)he? (Wo)Man, I'm confused.

Using your Buzzsaw logic, the character is specifically androgenous.
And, not being Hasbro or a licensed party, you arguably do not have the right to change their characters.

Unless there's some carryover between bug and robot modes. Waspinator's got some wasp-lookin' bits in robot mode, after all.

Nah, the tech spec uses the pronoun "it" which implies nothing more than the writer of the tech spec being unclear as to Buzzsaw's gender. And, that's what true androgyny *is*. I suspect you meant to say "asexual". Which could be true, also. Would that make you happier? =3

Oh, lawl. You can't even slightly mean that. Pretty sure I've said numerous times that I'm *changing* nothing with regard to their canonical toyline genders. If you saw a giant silicon-based wasp flying at your ass, you might be tempted to refer to it as "it" rather than check to see if it has balls in humanoid mode.
Scourge, Gomess' official ideas developer wrote:Unless there's some carryover between bug and robot modes. Waspinator's got some wasp-lookin' bits in robot mode, after all.
Quite right... That reminds me, I'd make use of the mutant heads, too. Still unsure how, though. Any ideas? I'm swaying between "organic battle armour", "lycanthropy" (hey, B-movies and that), or "later evolved forms" (they start out with their robot heads, and all gradually change to their mutant heads over time, which are then permanent, to represent the organic materials taking over their bodies).

That is one of the most terrifying ideas I have ever heard.

I believe that proves it's a winner.
