Looks to be an easy skip. (But, correct me if I am wrong, is this the first set where the TFs and Kreons are clearly not alliied?)

Shockwave, given what you had to work with, your Devastator looks pretty good.

Dom
-would rather be customizing proper figures though.

Yeah, man, I just dunno about Kre-O Devastator now. I will say this, though. Once they get it's head painted up right, it might look better. Still, yeah, that's not quite how I'd hoped it'd turn out.

Seriously. At least mine has a distintive head.

Yeah, well, if you look real close you can see where the head's supposed to be, but like I say, it's not painted at all yet, so it's an indistinct black shape. Assuming that they add some paint to the face or something, that could help the look of the figure out considerably.

i think. I could be way off here, though.

Ditto Jerry, ditto.

Man, there is no putting lipstick on THAT pig! Not even the G1 Kreon can save it.

The least they could have done would be to make all 6 ConstuctiKreons.

Dom
-and it will probaly cost as much as the original retail for RotF Devastator.

Megatron:

I spent 2.5 hours on this damned thing last night....and it is only half way done. Granted, I was on the phone with Scourge, so there is probably a distraction penalty. Lets call this 2 hours of work, and assume another 2 hours of time will be needed to finish this damned thing.

That would be four hours, which would actually be a pretty good dent in most any custom action figure that I might be working on, or a good dent in my comic back-log.

As with other sets, the Kreons are the best part. Megatron and Shockewave have unique moulding to make the figures look a little more like they should. Shockwave's arm-cannon is actually evocative of Flash Man's arm cannon from Megaman 2. If I was still interested in customizing Lego figures, I would almost be tempted to buy another Kre-O Shockwave for parts.

The generic Kreons are difficult to reconcile. The SWAT member has a standard "happy" face. This figure would not look out of place in a Lego display from the 1980s. Granted, there is nothing to say that (presumably) Decepticon allied figures have to have angry faces. But, damn, this little Kreon just looks like such a nice and friendly sort. In a way , it reminds me of Robert Patrick in "Terminator 2". (Actually, now that I think about it....the T-1000 did spend some time driving around in a semi cab, which is Megatron's alternate mode.) The Kreon known as "specialist" is angry and scarred. Part of me wonders if he is angry because he is not allied with Megatron and/or Shockwave, but is actually trying to fight them. That scar is a sign of how long and hard he has been fighting Decepticons....and uh.... Or, maybe he is there to be the really big threat that Megatron is afraid of. Megatron and the Autobots will team up to fight.....THE SPECIALIST!

Either way, this set includes the weapons sprue that camw with Prowl. (For whatever reason, armed Kreons make me think of "Munchkin".)

Grade: C/D

Dom
-no more Kre-O for me.

I don't recall Megatron taking that long (but this was back when they first came out so it's been a while). Maybe it did take 2.5 hours, but I was done with it by then. I also think the Kreons are the best parts of these sets and my favorite of those should be pretty obvious and probably explains why I bought this set.

Shockwave
-Just finished assembling the Lego Star Destroyer after two weeks of working on it last night. Now on to the AT-AT.

How many hours a night did you spent on the Destroyer?

Like I texted last night, (and I apologize for being testy), part of me thinks that I could have done something else with that 2.5 hours.

I had several nights where I didn't work on it at all and a good amount of that time was spent looking for peices. You didn't come across as testy and it is a valid point. If I had not been doing that, I could have done something else.
