Milk, milk, lemonde. I like how you smell when you are afraid.
The recent repurposing fad is kind of getting to me, if only because I realize it's going to create some *serious* headaches at later stages of the fandom.
-Black Convoy AKA RID Scourge.
-Binaltech Black Convoy, released in the US as Nemesis Prime.
-Nucleon Quest Super Convoy, who is Convoy.
-THS-02b, who is also Convoy.
-Armada Nemesis Prime, who Japan called...um. Scourge. Yeah.
-Superlink had Grand Scourge, who is (I guess) supposed to be an upgrade of Scourge, who is Armada Nemesis Prime. At this point I'm still unwilling to call them the same because Armada Nemesis is clearly a different guy.
-Nemesis Prime who is black alternate universe Big Convoy, and the only time the mould was released in the US. Apparently this guy is the same guy as Alternity Black Convoy, or Convoy Super Black. Stupid fucking Alternity.
-Universe SDCC Nemesis Prime, who's a repaint of Classics Prime. Wasn't released in Japan, so who cares.
-Nova Prime from IDW who is Nova Prime.
-Animated Nemesis who is some random-ass black Prime repaint. He was released in Japan only as "Convoy black ver." and repurposed as Nemesis. Ugh.
It gets worse though. Originally, "Nemesis Prime" was intended to be the name for "fell Primes" and "Scourge" was a "failed Prime" of some sort. The first was meant to be unholy, the second was any sort of failed Prime (RiD Scourge being an example).
That became steadily more muddied over the the years, even if we ignore Takara's lax standards on consistency.
IDW's Nemesis Prime is aguably an example of both types. He is corrupted by the Eye of Ter, (dammit), Dead Universe. But, he was a legitimate Prime at one point. He could credibly be called a Scourge.
Similarly, if we use Hasbro's origional standard, SDCC08 Nemesis Prime's bio describes a "Scourge" more than it decribes a "Nemesis Prime".
