Seems a tad harsh. They're a toy company trying to avoid harming their child customers and breakage and also lawsuits, all of which could harm the line. The figure can still stand, can still pose, can still transform whether or not the sword is rubbery, it's not like on Star Wars battle droids where they wilt and cannot be used anymore.

Since then, he's been posed fighting Bludgeon on top of my TV, and the tips haven't unbent themselves. I'll have to work with 'em some later.
I don't think that's possible to put them in the wrong way, if you put them in upside-down on the wrong side, it'll stop prematurely. If you're not sure, the blade follows the shape of the sheath. But that said, mine did lose a little bit of paint in the sheath over time, there seems to be a small pressure point, so maybe yours are jammed in harder.

It may not be, the swords are rubbery because they are flat and thin and pointed, the guns are none of those things. But the long gun is thin, so it's possible.

The sword is still a piece of crap. In all seriousness, it raises the question of "why bother to make something if it cannot be made well?".

The battle droid thing is inexcusable.

Let's see, $7 gets you 2 floppy battle droids that can be put on stands, while how much money goes into getting P/CP? LOTS MORE.

The sword isn't as bad as you're making it out to be. It's a kids toy, it has to be somewhat safe, and at the length it is, it also has to withstand being used by the toy without breaking, which a more brittle plastic would be very likely to do.
