See, I remember those things, but I'm not quite sure what '86 is talking about. Unless it's the Unicron toy (which the fandom famously "Waited seventeen years for") in which case I do. Except I don't.

As for The Venture Bros., the 'fanservice' in there (which I really don't think of as such, if only because I have an apparent double-standard with the context) was kind of a non-issue for me. Of course, I didn't know about the Doc Hammer pin-up thing, so. And anyway, Adult Swim's stuff has featured similar content for ages, so maybe I just didn't notice *how* it was being presented in this context.

And Trianna is a total Mary-Sue, but she hardly shows up anymore, and in this case I just get to laugh at Dean for being such a loser for being attracted to her.

Awh, hey now, Unicron wasn't THAT bad! =p

Pete White is just about the best representation of albinism I've ever seen on TV, western or eastern, by the way. Except this Darnell guy on the current UK Big Brother, I guess. But he's real, and thus doesn't count.

One thing the east, in particular, is STILL not so great at, is black guys. Get over them, Japan! They're JUST LIKE YOOOUUUU.

Pretty much any time the US is shown in Japanese fiction, there'll be a black guy RIGHT at the front. And probably a white guy with longish hair next to him. Parupu Fikushon...?

I'm sure he won't appreciate me saying, but it's entirely unrelated to TF. Eheh.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

Oh, I do.

Ugliest programme ever. Star Trek might give me a headache, but Family Guy inverts my stomach and stamps on my neck.

And it's just not funny any more. That may be due to 90% of my university buddies being mad about it, but. Now that we're all out on our own, even they admit it's gotten self-consumptive.

...Pretty sure I forbid any mention of "adult animated comedy with no concern for continuity". =p We call that the "Venture Bros and South Park are allowed" Clause.

Yeah, but it's first season Family Guy. Back when it was genuinely funny. Sorta. And Stewie was more murderous.

Really doesn't have any continuity. Curse you, leafy book of Simpsons.

I'm strapping on a fat suit and jumping off a trampoline onto thin ice here, but what about Invader Zim? Funny little show that, with kind of a 'loose' continuity. And it got me into Jhonen Vasquez, so hey.

Dayum...I forgot all about Invader Zim!

Yeah, that show was awesome. I was already a fan of Vasquez, so when I unknowingly ran across it, I was all like "This looks like Jhonen's kinda art, here..." so I kept watching.

It's funny that the artwork of the show is almost identical to his drawing style right down to the color palette. And some of the gags are kinda gruesome for a Nickelodeon show.
