I didn't realize this was an all-new figure, I saw it yesterday and thought it was just another revisit that Hasbro's been pumping out the past 3 years. Looking at pics, this actually looks like it could be fun. I will probably get it when I see it next, but Shockwave, you haven't gotten it fully transformed yet? That's not boding well, what's the deal?

I'm getting old and apparently need to read directions. This actually adds a couple of points in the figure's favor though: 1: Everything does lock together in vehicle mode and it really does look nice transformed (it should also be noted, I was transforming this at work when I didn't really have proper time to devote to it). 2: The instructions are actually useful. Upon looking at the diagram of the step in question, I saw what I was doing wrong and after that everything snapped into place. Literally.
Seriously, this figure is pure win. Buy one. Like now.
My only complaint is the piece that has the Autobot logo on it. It's tricky to get that around his head. But that is my only complain with this toy.

Finally found one today. Very nice figure all around. It has some great improvements over the previous versions of this character.

I ended up buying this figure right after I posted thanks to your advice. It's pretty good, a much better take on Deluxe Bumblebee than the last few iterations, and more modern than the first one (which is still the most accurate). I do agree that the little autobot emblem panel is a pain in the ass, causing the head to dislodge easily during transformation. The bumber-boobs also need a more defined stop point, I like the idea of them and the moving under-grille in bot mode, but they end up not having a final stopping place so they are too easily repositioned changing the look to something it shouldn't be. Also, the gun hand is a little lame, they have a good idea but the execution needed a little more finesse. Still, overall this is a leaner, meaner BB with some decent weapons finally, and a working mask.
