Nice one on the house!

My haul is ROTF Thrust. I recommend him, it's a much neater mold than I expected it to be. Besides the head issue, there's nothing I have to complain about. Speaking of, does anybody know a good fix for that? Seems like if the purple canopy piece in front of this face could move out of the way it would give him more clearance

Thanks! Still don't have the keys though. Probably get 'em Monday.

I haven't even seen Thrust anywhere but if I had pics to go by, I might be able to suggest something. I know Scourge and O86 have him though.

Picked up the repaint Leo Prime from Target. Much better than the original, but... I kinda miss the gold, especially on the mane. Might have to remedy that...

Went out with the girlfriend today, since her birthday was the day previous. Had pizza and saw The Men Who Stare At Goats, which was not as funny as I was expecting but still entertaining and I think I'll need to see it again at home to decide if I liked it or not.

Anyway, I bought toys and comics:
-TRU Insecticons. $35 for three G1 toys? I'm in. Plus, like Dom, AHM actually made me like the Insecticons for once. Can't wait to open them.
-New MMPR Red Ranger. This was all they had! I was sad.
-GI Joe RoC Flash. Wal-Mart was having a major sale--$5 single-carded figures. Unfortunately, I already either had just about everybody out or I wasn't interested in most--I've no desire to own Reactive Armour Duke or anything like that. It came down to Flash or the first Heavy Duty (since I never got a Roadblock or anything), and Flash won out. Might still go back and grab Heavy Duty, stupid as it'd be.
-Transmetropolitan volume 4! Yay! Nummy reprints of old stuff make me happy in the space pants.
-AHM volume 3. I've read most of the stories in this but actually own none of them, plus the cover is so awesome. The original cover was red, but they changed it to blue for some reason--probably to stand out against the red of Volume 1 and green of Volume 2. Also, just flipping through it, but I'll be damned if Turmoil doesn't look awesome. He reminds me of Titanium Fallen. Also, I never read Metroplex's, but I love how he talks.

EDIT: We have pics of New MMPR Megazord. And it sucks! It's only $25, but it's basically exactly the same as the original one, except smaller and slightly crappier. Come on! This is Goddamn 2009. I want decent arm articulation! Biceps, elbows, wrists! I want head articulation! I want swivel waist! Hell, at this point, I would settle for fucking 'knees.' I don't give a damn if this is how Bandai does things, they *shouldn't* be doing them this way, and they won't be getting my money.

Unless they make a show accurate Dragonzord that's cooler than the original I already own. Then I'll buy them both.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

Yeah, and I'm going to buy it anyway, because it's only $25, I never got the original one, and I am on a massive MMPR kick right now. And because I'm a sucker.

The Megazord aside, what'd you think of the Red Ranger?

So, I was thinking that the Voyager Bulkhead was probably enough, and the Leader would have just been extraneous. Then I actually found Leader Bulkhead for twenty bucks and decided, "Hell with it, I'm goin' for this."

Kinda glad I did, too, because that is a really good toy right there. Way more expressive and entertaining than the smaller version.

Oh, Animated, I just can't quit you.

Animated Arcee and Cybertron-mode Ratchet are going to be TRU exclusives... you're not done yet!

The thing to remember about Bandai is that their customer base consists of wee children, (who really cannot recognize good or bad toys), and adult collectors like BWP who will probably buy them anyway.

They coast through on brand recognition and and ignorant customer base.

My (sort of) haul:
Customizing yeilded a partially complete police Sunstreaker.

Hey, don't make me feel any worse than I already do! Besides, I think the Ranger figures are actually quite good. Well worth six bucks, anyhow.

Furthermore, the Megazord is only twenty bucks at Target! That's totally fair! Oh, so getting one of those babies next paycheck...

As evidenced by my own sparse postings in these threads, I have been cutting back. Those Insecticons and Joes last week were a splurge.

I am not even sure there is anything coming out for the rest of the year that I want, customizing aside.

Dom
-pretty sure he pre ordered the third "Encore" tape set.
