Upcoming Classics figures

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

I read they're planning on re-painting Energon Bruticus Maximus for classics. As nice as that sounds, I hope they'll aslo get around to re-painting Superion Maximus, since it's probably a safe bet that they won't do any new gestalts for this line.

I truly hope that they plan on mixing in components from the other two gestalts for that Bruticus repaint. One of the jets could pass as Blast Off fairly well, and I could probably accept Swindle as a contruction vehicle. Who do they plan on making Barricade into though? *Another* Onslaught? Ooh, G2 colors, maybe? I'd be down for that.

Well frack. The worst part is that I'm probably going to buy the damn thing anyway, since I missed the mold the first time, and heard that it was the best of the EnerGestalts.

On the other hand, the name-repurposing is rather clever. While I don't know about TankOff, I can totally buy Swindle as a helicoptor. Here's hoping the colors are at least correct.

Still maintaining my opinion that Cybertron Hardtop started life as a Swindle leg component, and that the gestalts would've originally had four unique limbs between Bruty and Superion. And then someone decided to take two from each and do another middle and do Dev, too. The design between Hardtop and the Scrapperfing Constructicons is too similar to be a coincidence.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

Quite.

I know I'll end up getting this just because it's Bruticus and contains Onslaught, sigh. Them's the breaks of having a favourite character.

Hasbro, make new gestalts to whore out. Quicksmart.

Blast-Off the Tank?

That's...interesting. I guess he does have "Blast" in the name.

Now, hopefully these guy's colors look as cool as the Energon variety.

More Brawn, Beachcomber and Razorclaw images. I'm gonna have to pay the inflated Legends prices... how can I resist new versions of two of my favorite mini-bots? Darn it.

I've never been a huge fan of Legends, but I may have to pick up some of the G1 versions to go along with my Classics.

Legends toys also make good Autobots to pair off against the out of scale Decepticon jets and such.
