So Wheeljack didn't go solo after all. He returns to the base via groundbridge but immediately Fowler reports another Decepticon hot spot in New Mexico, and Arcee forces Wheeljack to come along with her. Meanwhile, Raf happens to find a Predacon talon online but with the Autobots all otherwise engaged, Fowler and Jack's mom decide it would be easy enough for them to get it, and of course get captured. Apparently pepper spray works on robots. Not sure how but whatever... Arcee and Wheeljack are able to recover their fossil with out any further Decepticon troubles, making one sample the Autobots actually keep out of Decepticon hands. And with Arcee and Wheeljack having to save June and Fowler, Knockout gets away with the talon giving the Decepticons now 4 samples. Oh, and Predaking finally displays a sign of intelligence.
So, pretty much a bit of a character development episode but not much in terms of actual plot progression. With only 6 episodes left, they aren't going to have much time to actually show off the Predacons...
Yup, that's pretty much all of it. And Ratchet is so fucking lame that he couldn't go on this "important" mission with Fowler and June? I know we give G1 cartoon a hard time for basketball silliness and whatnot, but it seems far more cohesive in terms of plotting than these TFPBH turdballs. I was surprised they had Wheeljack not just run off as usual tho.

That's a stretch, it's not "clearly" at all, it could be the situation but as ugly as those combiners look, I highly doubt that's what TFP producers had in mind, they don't look dynamic at all, they look like Voltron 2 (aka Gladiator Voltron, the Voltron pieces you could easily get at Pic N Sav liquidators in the mid '80s):

The TFP/BH Terrorcons are the only combiners from the abandoned/axed TFP combiners that hasbro chose to keep while axing the GO combiners. I suspect the TFP Terrorcons were originally meant to be Five deluxes but got scaled down to legion sized toys due to them not being in the BH cartoon series.
That's unlikely, the TFP Terrorcons are designed as Cyberverse figures, Cyberverse designs are vastly different from Deluxes.
I find it odd that so many internet fans say the TFP/BH cartoon wastes so much time on stand alone episodes & doesn't give enough plot tied episodes. The odd part is that the 2009 TFA Animated cartoon series had leaps & bounds more stand alone non-plot tied episodes than TFP/BH has. TFA had most of the plot tied episodes centered around the last 3 episodes of each season wrap up. while TFP/BH has more plot tied episodes mixed in each season that TFA had.
I disagree, there's a lot of foundation and callbacks in TFA to make for a rich plot, while TFP's plot is wafer thin and not going anywhere, and wraps up its big things in the season finale/premiere episodes and season 1 to season 2's big thing just padded those out to extreme filler, while season 2 to season 3's big thing was just a lame quest that ended up falling down on its face, so now we're left with... another lame quest that is falling down on its face.

IGN's writeup from SDCC 2011 panel:
http://www.ign.com/articles/2011/07/22/ ... mers-prime
-- Dinobots? "Those characters are part of our long-term plan," was the response.
-- Combiners? After some hemming and hawing from the panel, one of the producers said decisively, "We'll have Combiners, don't you worry."
But then they didn't have either. That's a 2-year-old panel and nothing came of it at all.
If anything, the 'GO!' Combiners seem like the last-minute addition to me, being that they were designed exclusively by Takara for their version of the line, are coming out after everything else, and there's only, uh, two of them.
Agreed.
Sparky wrote:The producers had been saying since before season 2 began that beasts would be in the show as I recall. I get the feeling the 3rd season changing to focus on 'Beast Hunters' was the last minute change.
I always thought the producers talking about beasts being in the show was just the Insecticons. I agree that the Beast Hunters thing feels very last minute, the toys don't match the show, the show doesn't match the premise of the product, the Predacon doesn't transform, the only change is the existence of Predaking, Smokescreen changing his colors, and Optimus hulking out... oh, and the boring-ass quest for random bones that now feel utterly pointless what with A) the predacon sucking at his job; and B) the 'Cons already having several sets of bones.

He said "ow! My optics!" and blinked a bunch and acted like he was in pain. If it was just clouding his optics... well, actually there's no way pepper spray would cloud his optics because it's just a fine reddish clear mist, and a tiny stream of it. To me, it just came off as a dumb thing that happened to make other things happen (which also turned pretty dumb, I mean leaving the fucking bone sitting at the top of the open car was fucking idiotic, couldn't shove it down at least?).
Also, I agree that it seems like they're wasting time and dragging their asses with this season. With only so many episodes left you'd think they'd feel some sense of urgency to tell the story.
You would think!

Some reactions to said innuendo made me laugh even more.

Knockout is disgusted by how humanoids "interface"... does that mean he's not a homosexual after all?
