Actually, BWProwl, having lurked so long since the BWTF days, I pretty much realised that you're a fan of a lot of things I like. But I simply chose not to say aything.

Anyway, regarding the language, it's in Mandarin. Though, technicall, all Chinese dialects use the same written form, with variances in the word structure. I also read Hong Kong comics, which are written with Cantonese in mind, but reading the written script in Mandarin still makes sense, just that some phrases are not noticeably used in Mandarin. Kinda ike the difference between calling a gun a "side arm" and a "piece".

Erm, so yea... if there was still any doubt after my dim-sum-and-chopsticks post in the other thread, I'm Chinese. :)

New haul - Don't exactly have it in my possession yet, but the preorder just came in, which I will collect by this weekend and which I've already paid in full...

Box from Dom today. Which is quite a haul:

7 comics: All varying titles and enough reading material for a few weeks at least.

And 6 of the Heroes of Cybertron PVC figures. Almost all of them are customs. Soundwave done up in his early comic purple colors, Prime with a bigass gun, Megatron done in a really nice color scheme (I may take to customizing some of the larger figures in this color), Ironhide, Cyclonus and Armada Scavenger.

Oh and as an afterthought that yellow Grappel thing everyone's nuts about.

Shockwave
-How Dom knew I had just found my PVCs I'll never know.

Not...gonna...cry...

Anyway, I picked up the Autobot Ratchet Lunar Crawler, which I was downright afraid of after how horribly lame Shockwave's Action Set turned out, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good a toy the Crawler is. It's not quite on the level with Megatron's set, but it's got three distinctive, functional modes that integrate well with the core figure, which has even been retooled a bit to work better with the set (the 'combat vehicle' mode is particularly clever/fun). Yeah, it still feels kinda cheap and flimsy, like a lot of the Action Sets (Exemplary: I dare you to find a packaged sample of this toy where the right-side solar panel bit hasn't popped off and started rattling around in the box), but it makes up for it by actually feeling like a functional playset, and working well with the core figure. I also like the novelty of it basically being a giant version of Roller's alt-mode. Plus, between this thing, Roller, and the little rover/gun it comes with (which is also a fun accessory for Cyberverse stuff), you can get a decent fleet of lunar rovers to accompany your Ark/Autobot Moonbase on the Moon. It compliments the Ark well in general, actually.

Also grabbed Marvel Universe Scarlet Spider. I'm not much for the character now, but I was actually quite the Spider-Man fan back in my youth, so the retarded piece of 90's Spider-Lore known as Scarlet Spider appeals to me. I might get that MU-scale Ben Reilly Spider-Man that's out too, to complete the 'set', as it were.

So, wait, which is which, here? ...They did both outfits?

Anyway, hauls!

-GI Joe's live action outing on DVD for $5. Can't beat it.
-Marvel 1602, because I've never read it, and my girlfriend saw it in the bookstore and was all "Ooh, neat!" And things she thinks are neat are things I buy her, so.
-Hatchet! Yay Hatchet.
-GI Joe PoC Firefly. Pretty much bought him because he looks like a Xenomorph.

Scarlet Spider got released in the Marvel Universe line. Meanwhile, over in that more kid-targeted 3.75" Spider-Man line, they did a Ben Reilly costume Spider-Man who comes with some missile launchers or something. From what I'm hearing though, it is not the best toy in the world, lacking the wrist swivels, chest movement, and ankle joints that MUs have, and the colors don't look too terrific either. I'll probably pass on it and just wait for MU to do a Spider-Ben.

Anyway, I got:
Vol. 1 of that Gossip Girl manga, because Borders had it on clearance/sale on account of their imminent demise.
Halo Reach blue Spartan Mark V, because come on, it's Caboose!
A bunch of new Magic cards and some Magic card sleeves and a Magic cards box, because I felt like building a new Magic deck.

Okay, that clears it up. A Spider-Man lacking ankle joints?! What the hell, man? Forget that, I'll wait for a MU Spider-Ben. (Gotta get Scarlet Spider and Jim Lee Cyclops, man!) Also, related: BBTS has MU Spider-Man 2099 for $3 right now!

I saw that on the shelf at Best Buy last week, but I'd forgotten about it. I need to buy that, I've never seen them.

I'd heard about Lee Cyclops, but hadn't seen him anywhere. Not that I was particularly eager to get him, aside from 'Behold: OPTIC BLAST!' appeal. Scarlet Spider is the first one of these besides Doctor Doom to catch my eye. Of course, if they ever get around to doing a Jim Lee Rogue, I'll have to buy two of those (one for regular Rogue, and another to paint up in the colors I used in MvC2). Well, her and the goddamn Power Pack. Seriously, is it so hard to do toys of that team?

Man, I dunno. Apparently so.

Variant of Katie in clear yellow, with snap-on power balls? Jack with a cloud base, maybe? Julie with a rainbow trail base, and Alex with...eh, who needs accessories?

What'd be irritating, though, you know they'd do it like the FF, where you get one of the kids in one wave, and then another one down the line, and then the last one comes in some kind of multi-pack. I mean, how hard is it to make a damn Invisible Woman?
