Why change the Tripredacus Council at all? Just to show female leaders? Just to do something different?
That sort of thing is a huge part of why I do not read fanfic....or literary theory.

*facepalm*
CATCH UP DOMINIC
*toy continuity*, remember?
No. Tripredacus. Council.
Why "change" them? But they're not even described as male. They're not even male in the *show*, are they? Nah, I guess they did have male voices. But I'm actually "changing" nothing, just developing underused characters in perfectly legal ways. Didn't 3H decide that the genderless Sonar female? Did that piss you off too? No jibes about "no one caring about 3H", please. The point stands; it's canon.

We've been over this. Read it if you like, don't if you don't. Give constructive criticism or git! =3

Dominic wrote:I know it has come up before, (and some of this is based on real time conversations with Honey Bear), but some of the show characters have female alternate modes.
-Tigatron: If we assume he scanned Snowstalker, he scanned a female tiger.
-Waspinator: Had a stinger. And, the wasp he scanned was behaving like the female of a species that I cannot recall the name of.
A parasitoid wasp, but certainly the stinger is enough to prove gender.

I don't understand this. Mainframe's animation isn't good enough to indicate spider gender.

-Megatron: ditto
-Inferno: scanned a female.
Inferno definitely did, also.
I love me some bugs.

Oo, ta. I love a healthy bit of genderqueering. Inferno being male in humanoid form (his tech spec says so) and female in ant form (his altmode apparently says so), played straight (oh behave), could add a nice bit of personality.
...That said, I'd need to see the evidence myself. I for one had no idea you could tell ant gender with the naked eye. O_o

You don't need to see the ant sex organs. Like bees and wasps, all ant soldiers/workers are female.

Oh, I had no idea. Nifty. Transgender Inferno it is.
Question: Was Jim Byrne going for a Scottish accent? Sometimes it sounded like it.

I thought so, too, but only sometimes.

If I remember right, male ants have wings and functioning eyes. It's entirely possible that Inferno's completely blind, at least in ant mode.
Hey, which brings up: Would Inferno be ant-sized, or would he be a giant-ass ant? Like, maybe he scanned the critters from THEM!

I'm really keen on making Waspinator TINY, but Inferno being giant is a cool idea. The series probably would be set in the late 50s/early 60s (omg fanfic spoilerz), sooo... Yeah, if you know anything about me you know it's gonna have a B-movie feel.
For science's sake, here's the list of genderless BW characters, according to their bios:
Tigatron
Insecticon
Scorponok
Buzzsaw
Prowl (Magnaboss)
Silverbolt (Magnaboss)
Ironhide
Cicadacon
Ramhorn
Seaclamp
Optimus Minor
Sonar
Just if you're curious. Insecticon is blatantly Scarem, though, isn't he? Just like Inferno is Scavenger. Come onnn, lookit the head sculpt, never mind the altmode.

I could have sworn Honey Bear said that Tarantulas' alt mode was female.
Either way, there is a difference between scanning an alternate mode and absorbing all of its functionality. Why would Inferno be blind when he has functioning scanners? Why would G1 Megatron suddenly shoot solid ammunition if he fired energy before hand?
Didn't 3H decide that the genderless Sonar female? Did that piss you off too? No jibes about "no one caring about 3H", please. The point stands; it's canon.
Yeah, that was annoying. I forgave it in 2001 because the rest of the comic seemed to have legitimate potential. And, no, I do not argue that Sonar is male because I want Sonar to be male. Every official source with anything to say on the subject says that Sonar is female. So, that makes Sonar female.
Dom
-remembers Inferno calling Megatron "queen". Oh ho! Clever.
