-Clerks 2 Mooby Meal box set. It has a visor and a cup and shit. It's hilarious and it was $13.

-First season of Saturday Night Live for my father's birthday gift.

-$20 worth of MS points which I spent on the Left 4 Dead 2 DLC (Did I mention I bought L4D2? I guess not.) and on Duke Nukem 3D. Always bet on Duke.

-A new flash drive! Eight gigs. This'll hold Lamda Ecks and probably all of Serious Songs as well.

I heard about this adventure. It does, indeed, sound terrifying. But funny if you're not the one it's happening to.

Anyhoo, bigass box from Dom came today, full of things that are delightful! Seriously, if at all possible, buy stuff from Dom. Dude hooked me up.

Okay, this had stuff from two deals we've had going, so it's a bunch of stuff.

BWNeo Heinrad: Who is, indeed, rad. As soon as I can I'ma figure out how to work the clock. But the figure's very cool and odd in his own way, which is what I love about BWN.
BWX Primal and Megatron: The new mold guys from the BWX line? Yeah, them. With their spaceships and everything. Haven't fiddled much yet, but they cool.
Universe Roadbuster: Which is funny because I sold my previous version of this mold earlier this year. I guess I like the mold better than I like Hot Shot, because when Dom mentioned he had this thing, I was like "Hell yeah, I could use one of those."
The Air Mini-Con team: The first Star Saber guys. I've only had the retooled versions of this mold (Energon and Seeker Sabers), so this is a neat kind of thing.
Cobra Resolute Troopers: The red guys from that "Resolute" pack. Such a neat mold, and I think it's impossible to have too many Cobra Troopers.
Green and Yellow Lantern Rings: Hah.
Spychanger Scourge: The only version of this guy I didn't have. A really nice bonus, thanks, bro!
Mini-Con...: I forget this guy's name. Grey repaint of the F-15 guy from the "Classics" mini-cons. Anyway, it looks really cool.
Arachnolord: Dom's custom "Shattered Glass" Spider-Man. Pretty neat execution of a goofy idea.

And comics! A pile of 'em!

So again, the moral here is, if you're gonna buy some stuff, you should totally buy it from Dom. Thanks again, man, this stuff's awesome.

Another Doctor Who DVD purchase. "The Space Museum" and "The Chase", two 1st Doctor stories from the second season. I always like to compare the extensively restored DVDs to my old VHS copies, and once again the increase in picture and sound quality more than justifies purchasing a story I already own. It's clear than most VHS releases just had any old copy of the episodes put on the VHS, no matter how dirty or muffled they might have been. The DVDs are probably the most thoroughly restored TV series I've ever seen. Though music rights issues strike again, and a section of episode 1 with the Beatles has been cut from the US release of the story. It doesn't affect the plot, but it's the only instance I can think of where a release has actually been edited like this.

Aw, dang, so it doesn't have Ian's extremely goofy dance bit? That kind of sucks. Also, when we saw this at Barnes and Noble the other day, I described "The Chase" as "The episode the Beatles were in, sort of". Guess I need to revise that.

Still a cool episode, though. I like the bit on the "Mary Celeste".

Apparently, the idea of me cowering in the bathroom while Amway hunts for me is funny to people.

The Minicon Saber-jets are actually the Kabaya editions. Heinrad works like a traditional alarm clock. You probably had a similar clock growing up. (Have you noticed the beast mode's uh...anatomical oddities?)

Dom
-notes that Amway knows where he lives.......

Yeah, there's about two minutes missing from episode 1. It cuts from the end of the Shakespeare scene to the TARDIS landing on the desert planet. The scene is intact on the VHS, so I guess I'm backing that episode up to DVD. And from what I understand, the region 2 release in the UK is uncut, so I guess it's an overseas music rights issue of some sort.

There's a great extra on the disc. There's a color home movie among the extras that shows a lot of the models used in black and white Doctor Who, such as the smaller scale TARDIS models, the full sized Macra prop, various prop energy weapons, and a good view of the inside and outside of the Dalek props of the time. It's almost worth buying the set just to see that glimpse into the behind the scenes model building.

They're a door-to-door pyramid scheme. They know where everyone lives. And yes, being pursued by agents of Amway (or is it A.M.W.A.Y.?) is kind of funny.

And yeah, I'm guessing Heinrad's courage is extremely high, because he's clearly got a pair.
