Your Classics Wishlist

The modern comics universe has had such a different take on G1, one that's significantly represented by the Generations toys, so they share a forum. A modern take on a Real Cybertronian Hero. Currently starring Generations toys, IDW "The Transformers" comics, MTMTE, TF vs GI Joe, and Windblade. Oh wait, and now Skybound, wheee!

I'd love a Classics Blitzwing as well, but doubt we'll see one until well after the Animated version clears out of stores.

As far as other characters, I'm open to pretty much any Gen 1 char that have yet to be done as long as they're done well.

-G1 Soundwave
We need a Soundwave that turns into a tape deck to fit in the Ravage that come with Hound
-G1 Shockwave
Jet gun I don't care but I really want a Shockwave!
-G1 Sixshot
Guess why
-G1 Scourge
We need a Scourge to fit in with Galvatron and Cyclonus. I remember some time in the summer there a bunch of listings for Universe toys that has a Ultra class Scourge

Oh, hey, a new member! Welcome to TFViews. I'm Onslaught Six, not to be confused with onslaught86, the, uh, other one. Yeah.

Anyway, I'm probably going to seem like a jerk for some of this.

But Ravage already is engineered specifically to fit into G1 Soundwave. Between Hasbro's reissue (with the Soundblaster door) and the Encore Soundwave reissue, not to mention copious reissues from recent years, a G1 Soundwave isn't exactly out of reach if you really want one.

...That said, of course, I'd love a new one.

You and me both, buddy. I actually lucked out and found a G1 Shockwave at a yard sale for a nickel. (Well, my father did, but that's besides the point.) And there really is no substitution. The original is just so 'kickass,' and even the recent Titanium one seems like it'd be crappier because it just doesn't retain that same charm Shockwave has.

...Oh, no, you're Deathy, aren't you.

The listing you're talking about eventually turned out to be a repaint of Cybertron Scourge as RID Bruticus. Which is awesome. And I haven't seen it anywhere. (Is it even out yet? Is it even going to come out?) We did get Titanium Scourge, though, who is pretty much entirely what you could want from a new Scourge toy, if you can track him down. (In fact, after his release, people were pretty much clamouring for a new Cyclonus and Galvatron to go with him.)

Besiding this, Classics Is Ovah Again, at least until next year, probably afterwards--likely in the interim after the second movie line dies down and the third one gets ramped up. Then again, some say the third movie won't make it out until 2012, since Bay wants to take a year off.

The only place I've seen it. The way things are shipping to stores now (as in, not very much), it might be the way to go for anyone who really wants it. Personally, it's just not that different from the original color scheme on that figure for me.
I disappear.

Since the likelihood of Bruty there making it to my shores is, hm, slim to none, I may well have to import. Which sucks, since HTS means double-shipping. They can't ship internationally because it violates the distribution agreements with international Hasbro branches. Feh.

But I simply must own him. He's an awesome homage to a particularly obscure non-show character I love from one of my favourite TF series, and as it stands, he's the only RID homage in the whole 25th line. Sigh.

Huh. Inneresting, as Hasbro has repeatedly said they want to try and get HTS to ship to Canada in Q&As.

Yeah, thaswhy they don't ship to Canada. There used to be a UK one if memory serves. And now there's, uh, not. Sucky.

I agree. Alternators Shockwave/blast was a really good remake (and far better than Energon Shockblast), but Shockwave really needs to be a gun. I would hope the fantasy nature of the pistol could help it get past the anti-toy gun laws, though I wonder if the dark purple might be a problem. A neon color scheme wouldn't really fit the character.

There is the Titanium version from a couple of years ago. It's a pretty decent improvement on the original figure and fits well with Galvatron and Cyclonus.

Well, there's been this awful trend lately (that actually appears to start with the unused Transtech Shockwave design, which I still love) of shoving neon green on Shockwave's design. Hrm.

That said, TT Shockwave's design worked because he was a race car 'shaped like a gun.'

My wish list:

1. BW Ravage (gee, who would've guessed?)

2. G1 Predaking (just imagine it: a rerelease or update of Magnaboss in the G1 Predacon colors. That would kick so much ass, in my opinion.)

3. Sky Lynx (because, hey, who wouldn't like a new version of him?)

4. Omega Supreme (he needs a redesign so badly.)
