I disagree with this! It's got plenty of Decepticons hacking up civilians, and Autobots being all run-down and depressed, and then coming back around to beat the crap out of some 'Cons in a big showdown. Megatron fights Devastator! High concept aside, that's awesome.

I mean, for real, if you don't get excited when you hear the words, "Megatron fights Devastator," you have no business reading Transformers.

Keep in mind how much of that was back-loaded though. The Autobots do not do much of anything for the first 3 or 4 issues. Yes, there are legitimate story reasons for this. But, it is a non-conventional comic, especially for TFs where the good guys are typically the focus. "All Hail Megatron" did not read like a TF comic until the end. The early issues were more about setting things up.

Yes, we've seen Perceptor has medical skills. Like I pointed out above, he was responsible for building a new body for Kup. And he modified parts of his own body to make himself into a sniper.

That sounds more like "mad scientist" than "doctor".

So how about when Ratchet announces that they have this procedure that could potentially save Optimus' life, but that it's extremely risky and more than likely will kill him? And then a few pages later, Optimus is walking around again good as new? Ratchet must be a miracle worker.

The fact that the procedure was risky would explain Ratchet's initial reluctance to try it. The Autobots did not do much of anything until Kup showed up and motivated them like a slice of horse raddish in the tuchus.

What's your point? He still has the skills necessary. And you could say the exact same thing about Wheeljack, but unlike Perceptor, he actually helped Ratchet with fixing up Optimus.

The problem isn't Ratchet's reluctance, the problem was that Optimus was as good as new only a few pages after Ratchet mentions the procedure in the first place.

Yeah.

Between this and the bad art, Issue 9 is one of the worst in the series. And I even like AHM.
