I hadn't noticed the missing faction symbols. I do wonder if they're something coming out of the Reveal the Shield nonsense.

Oh, that reminds me, I opened a new figure recently... um, Lugnut, I think... anyway, it had a mini-catalog within including the Hot Rod vs Cyclonus set, but I hadn't noticed before on previous catalogs that the rubsigns are photoshopped well off-center, revealing their original painted faction symbols.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Oddly, neither of the American figures have painted sigils under the stickers.

Umm... isn't it "traditionally" on the front in front of the 4? At least all the '84 artwork shows that.

For the package art, yes. But, for the character art, it is usually on the roof/back of the car/robot.

Not in the comics/cartoon it wasn't. Maybe in later media like DW or IDW, but in Marvel G1 and the cartoon it was on his chest.

*squints* Ah, you're right. They've got it smudged down on that gold abdominal plate. I'd been noticing it missing from his chest window, AKA where it's *supposed* to be.

Well, yeah. What they likely did was take the Japanese figures from the Galvatron set...and photoshop some black symbols onto them.

No it's not, bro.

Maybe on your toy, but definitely not. I have seen the rubsign put there before, but that's it.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

Well, bugger me then. Coulda sworn.....

(Kudos to selecting art from various sources by the way.)

Selective memory is a strange thing. For example, I remember specifically doing a measurement of a G1 Prime as 7" tall.

So, are there any preliminary counts to let us know how this went?
