Re: Comics are Awesome II

Okay, screw it. The thread is now 18+.
First off, are they teenage boys? Really? Really? Really? Last I checked, the median age of comic readers has not gone down much since we were kids. If anything, it has gone up. (This makes DC's allenating the kiddie market all the worse.) I am pretty sure that the people Starfire is meant to appeal to are "that guy" and his friends. (Enjoy that image Crabby ol' boy.)
And, lets stop beating around the (burning) bush (of Starfire). Who the fuck is going to masturbate to a comiC?
There, the question has been asked.
Seriously though, who is going to masturbate to a comic book? Okay, there might be the occassional furry or other deviant, but how many of them are there?
Even kids can get some degree of *actual* porn. Lets assume "no internet" for the moment. DC is not, as far as I know, publishing images of full nudity with visible naughty bits. (Please tell me this assumption is correct.) There is comparable material on television or in magazines. And, I am not even talking about purpose made porn. The media has plenty of rude imagery. And, kids can most likely get actual porn.
Adults would have even less reason to punch one out to Starfire. There are varying degrees of pornography (types of models, styles of dress/undress, whathaveyou) available for various self-pleasures. There are enoughmodels with altered bodies (artificially big boobies and the like) to negate the need for a cartoon girl even if somebody does not like real proportions. Hell, there are actual pornographic comics. I am sure that at least some of them have distorted boobied women.
Is DC really trying to break in to the fap-fodder market with comics? Wouldn't Warner Brothers, (who owns DC), be better served by...I dunno, selling actual fap fodder through mainline stores rather than faux-fap-fodder through comic shops? Am I the only one who thinks that "Bodaciously Buxom Babes with Bouncy Boobies" would be a more marketable magazine than "Red Hood and the Tittied Titans"?
What is wrong with the world?

-no, really. Is DC trying to compete with real porn?
There is so much wrong about this statement. No point having a flamewar with a bunch of horny teenage boys that are jacking off to Starfire.
