I wrote Ryall, who happened to be sitting next to Barber at Con. Barber confirms that it is Hippotank. (I stand by saying that it really *looks* like Mirage. But, apparently, it is Hippotank.)

So, yup, it was Hippotank and there is great rejoicing.

And, then I realized that I still cannot look at Warpath or Jetfire without realizing that the only place those character models are likely to turn up is in Fun Publications, and I wail and knash my teeth.

-thinks that this warrants a large font: Chris Ryall and John Barber are working a convention table and they still took time out to answer a stereotypical fan question, "on page ____ of issue ____, is that _____ getting killed by _____?" Those guys are bros.

And even if it was Mirage that still doesn't mean he's dead. Y'know because um... Thundercracker. But yeah, that was pretty clearly Hipotank. I didn't confuse that for Mirage at all.

And, I didn't think that Prowl so much "gave up" as his psyche was "consumed by" the other Constructicons. Almost as if Bombshell's control was somehow preventing him from being consumed into the "Devastator" personality. Then, as soon as that's gone, he gets lost with the others.

The vents on the side of the head and that slight ridge on top of the helmet made me think it was Mirage. (Hippotank's head was also more squared off in other scenes.) Turmoil's shot looked pretty fatal. It was the type of shot that would kill anybody who did not have plot armour of some kind. (For example, in "Armada", Smokescreen survived a similar hit and was rebuilt as Hoist. But, in many other cases, a character taking that kind of damage would be assumed to be dead.)

The Prowl thing though, yeah, that much is obvious. (Of course, Devastator is a raving lunatic, so Megatron is likely still pretty well screwed.)

-is waiting for Windcharger to show up in his RTS body.....and then die. (It is going to happen. Oh, make no mistake. It will happen.)

Can anybody get and/or loan me a copy of RID #12, any cover? I have Vol 1 and 2, Vol 3 will be on my doorstep when Amazon gets it, and those catch me up to issue #11 and the annual. I've also picked up from my local shops issues 13-15, but none of the 3 closest have #12 for some reason and I'd rather not pay $7 with shipping for it online. I won't need it until at least the end of the month when vol 3 ships.

Yes, I...already knew about that? Bombshell mentioned Prowl's mind being damaged in his stupid evil plan speech, and then they showed how Prowl's mind got 'damaged' by Chromedome probing him in a flashback in MTMTE a month later. It's the same little story-crossing stuff these books have been doing for a while.

Honestly, I don't understand what it actually *does* for the story. It would have been easy to just say Bombshell's cerebro-shells plain ol' worked, but instead they threw in this thing about how they worked 'better' because of something we found out about in a different comic a month later. It's a cute link between the stories, I guess, but it doesn't really contribute anything.

I hadn't noticed it, somehow, so. I guess I didn't make the connections, so seeing it laid out this way really impressed me.
