Yeah, the Binaltech story described him having a color change ability to explain the yellow and blue versions of the toy.

And that totally makes sense for the character. Hell, you'd think if these robots were serious about disguise, that'd be a pretty standard option on 'em.

I loved that in the cartoon he still looked all badass, had the severely cool flying car mode, and sounded pretty much exactly like Vanity Smurf. Some kind of neat contrast there.
I loved all the new Season 2 guys. Especially since, function-wise, a few of 'em could've been set up as proteges to the original high command. Check it:
Ironhide - Red Alert
Huffer - Grapple
Jazz - Tracks
Probably others (I'm tired)

If G1 had been a better show, we could've had episodes where Jazz trains Tracks in special ops. WHY THIS NO HAPPEN

But yes, Tracks was basically the new secret agent character. Shame he didn't really get to do it.

Hmmm...

Ratchet - Hoist
Prowl - Smokescreen
Hound - Tailgate..or maybe Cosmos? Recon and Communications isn't too far away from "Scout".

See?? It's all there! Hoist might even have been "shared" by Ratchet and Wheeljack, like a classic overworked intern.

Damn, we should've been writing that cartoon.

Now I wanna watch some S2.

I've got pretty vivid memories of Warmonger being depicted as a brick-red colour on a cover. Were the UK covers different to the US ones? Guess they must've been, considering there were like a hundred extra issues over here.
Warmonger never appeared in the US. I was not aware of any colour images of him.

It should damn well be about what you like. Criminy.
Even by that standard though, I am not sure which option bothers me the least.

And doesn't he look fabulous?
Dude, this figure looks fucking sweet. You have no idea.

Yeah, the Binaltech story described him having a color change ability to explain the yellow and blue versions of the toy.
Well, it does solve the problem, as much as I dislike falling back on BT for anything. (Really, they could not have gone with "Tracks changes colour...like a girl changes clothes"? That reasoning worked for Hauler.)

So, it is red Tracks, you personally don't have the fortitude to rebrand Road Rage as a dude - it's just not who you are.
I guess that makes Tracks is now number 2 for "most customized iterations of a single character in my collection", following Starscream over-all. And, he ties Ramjet for post-movie moulding. (Actually, I used Reprolables on another Tracks last night, putting him slightly, if lazily, ahead of RJ.)

Actually, Red Alert would probably be Ironhide's boss. And, was Tracks strong in anthropology? The way I saw it, Jazz would figure out what products to sell and how to sell them, Tracks would be more the consumer if I am recalling correctly. (That is the best analogy I can think of.)

I did like that G1 in general made infrastructure and administrative along with command and soldier characters though. I really missed that post G2.

Well, there is precedence since G1 Tracks was released in Europe in red.

I have an alternate solution for you, but you probably won't dig it. Red Tracks is... Overdrive! He's red, he's a sports car, and he has wings! BOOM! DONE! Plus, Overdrive was the only Omnibot mold that didn't suck.

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

I'll go you one better; I once saw red Euro Tracks advertised as "Traxx". Let that one swim around your fanspace for a while.

He could also be Swerve, since it seems red car repaints are now *always* Swerve.

Have A Swerve!

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.
