Gomess' Forbidden Folder of Wonders

The originals... ok, not exactly, but the original named "The TransFormers" anyway. Take THAT, Diaclone!

I'll be danged. I had no idea Barry Kitson did some TF stuff. He's a pretty damn fine artist.

Man, I want more Senior artwork so bad. That guy's kind of amazing.

As a kid- before I understood the difference between sequential artwork and cel animation- I always wanted Barry Kitson to do the TF cartoon's artwork. I think I liked his work because it was like a more detailed version of the show.

Ok, so what's next in the f-HOLY SHIT

...Ok, let's look away from Nightmare!Galvatron and-OH BLOODY HELL

Image

These are two parts of a wraparound cover from one of the G1 comics, which I naturally tore off and had up on my wall as a kid. On reflection, it's maybe a little too hardcore for me. I mean seriously, is that Hot Rod's head...? =/

Soyeah. Subscribe to Marvel G1 and get the crap scared out of you on a regular basis.

NEXT TIME: Sticker album, knockoffs, THE END.

Can you say "European artwork"? Sure, I knew you could.

Image

Unfortunately this isn't an art book, but a humble sticker album. Fortunately my cousin had the wherewithal to fill in any gaps where we didn't have stickers.

Image

(This is the work of my itinerant cousin Maria, for those of you who remember her.)

Image

Optimus' diamond-studded boots are particularly fetch.

Image

MISTAAAAAKE Haha "astronomer"? Yeah right. Chip's CV just reads "COURAGE!"

Image

I always loved this shot, because it looks like Grimlock- who hasn't even been activated yet- is peering in all HEY SPIKE WHAS GOIN ON

Anyway, a couple of my recent bootlegs (I posted the MOST recent one in May Hauls)...

Image

These ones are fun because of their awful names. And the fact that they try to pass two toys off as four. Both common practices, I know.

Image

I think I got this one...? Different colours, actually. The one I have isn't technically on the card. Heh.

Image

And this is just a fantastic name. DINOSAUR ELITE WAR BRIGADE.

Image

Unfortunately, their transformation scheme isn't the best...

Image

Sure, the top half has that Dinobot "wings" thing going on, but almost ALL of the figures in the set end up with a hugely prominent dinosaur head sticking out of their crotch, and with no neck joint to hide it. Brilliant.

Well, I'll give the last word to the "excellently" "written" BEAST WITHIN comic included FREE with some DVD boxset or other. I guess it counts as TFCC exclusive. Or at least an insiders' thing. Made by fans for fans. Whatever.

OH MAN I DO! What was her fake Internet name? Muhh...

Wish I had something more to say.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

Her real name with the last two letters taken off. =p She might've been clever enough to collect every single Micromaster, but she wasn't too imaginative with usernames. But then, who is?

That's understandable, my forbidden folder is an awe-inspiring sight. And there's other stuff in it, this is just what I felt like talking about.

We shoudl do the world a favour and go all "Shaq-Fu" on "The Beast Within".

So, has anyone ever seen colouring books and the like in good condition?

I actually do have a coloring book in fairly decent shape. Some pages are torn, some have coloring but most are untouched and in decent shape.

I think that is supposed to be Ironhide's head on the pike.

What can I say? I wasn't a nerdy kid. I'd probably do the same thing today. Things are to be enjoyed.
