Please check out,My Dotm Masterforce Overlord toy idea

Money, violence, sex, computer graphics, scatalogical humor, racism, robots designed to be rednecks but given European accents, and maybe another sequel to the saga... what's not to love? TF m1, Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon and now Age of Extinction.

Then how did they get away with in the 80's? Yes, I realize he was Japanese only, but still, the toy sold and it's still pretty popular now so I don't see how we can say that people would complain.

-Granted this is coming from the same guy that was bitching about PCC drones not having individual bot modes. :?
The same way hasbro/takara got away with releasing brick formers in the 1980's instead of super poseable robots.

the time era's were differnt, toy technology wasn't as advanced as it is today. because of the limited 1980's toy technology kids/buyers weren't expecting much back then.

more importantly their was no internet in the early 1980's for kids/buyers to rant & complain on. these days we see TF new molds months/year before they get released in stores. these days kids/buyers/fans ripp a toy to shreds when they see the first image posted on the internet.

I get that but one has to look at the intent of the toy as well. The point of a new Overlord wouldn't be to create a team of robots that merge into one super robot, but to update a single character with separate vehicle modes. As such, I don't really think there would be much compaining as long as they were good updates and had good articulation and detail.

-Wasn't Overlord some sort of missile command base anyway?

Yup, precisely why I'm more for the base mode idea, IF this is intended as a piece in the DotM line.

Tigermegatron wrote: I suspose the idea of yours isn't a bad one. as like you & others in this thread said. the tank that transforms into a dragon/bird would have the advantage of conquering land & air. same deal goes for the black stealt jet that transforms in a lion/jaguar/panther,it'll conquer both land & air. THE PROBLEM HERE IS I DON'T SEE HOW BOTH BEAST CAN COMBINE TO FORM A SUPER BEAST MODE LIKE 1986 SKYLYNX. Which would ruin the whole "lets repaint this toy in 1986 skylynx as it looks some what similar" idea.
Well, G1 Skylynx's combined mode was essentially a bird sitting on a quadruped with its head and tail tucked in. It's reasonable to assume, I think, that the land-animal's transformation scheme would require concealment of both head and tail for the alt mode. In which case, the only other thing it would need for a combined beast mode is some way to peg the flying animal on; it wouldn't really matter whether the alt was a plane or tank ;-)
