In this thread, hell even on these foruns, you'll have to be more specific.

Well, I always assumed that the UK mostly just got the same PAL stuff as everyone else. Europe got Probotector, so I'd assume G would get Probotector, too. Just strange to hear that that wasn't the case.
Rereailing the thread: I'm looking into finding a Raphael mask to recycle most of my Rorschach garb so I can be Disguised Raphael. From the first film! My girlfriend is being Sandman Death.

Had a friend throwing a Halloween party that I didn't know about until the last minute... Decided to go as a White Lantern since I had the shirt handy and some white clothes to go with it and a Green Lantern ring (none of my friends knows the difference so I can get away with that).

Friday night was party night for some neighbors on the next street over, and of course they had the music cranked up way too high. I could hear the bass all throughout my house. We put up with it until almost 9:00, at which point we'd had more than enough. I called the cops to complain, and the dispatcher beat me to the punch by noting the exact address, and that she had officers on the way already. I guess I wasn't the only one who got fed up and called!
My church had "trunk or treat" on Saturday night for Halloween, so I went to that because my wife wanted to take the girls. A bunch of people park their cars in one of the parking lots and decorate the trunks in various ways. They hand out candy to the lines of kids, and there was quite a crowd this year. They told us over 6000 people were there. I think that's well over twice the membership of the church, so there were a lot of non-church families who came out to participate. My oldest daughter was a ballerina, and the little one was a puppy. Though she didn't want to keep the puppy hood on her head, so it was only partially effective. I wore my Green Lantern ring, but that was it. I was clearly in my civilian garb. And evidently I forgot to charge my ring since I couldn't make any constructs with it.
Then on Sunday night when the trick or treaters were coming around, we just sat inside and ignored them when they rang the doorbell. Take a hike kids... getcher own candy!!

Anderson: The Halloween Grinch.
Anyhow, my Electric Six show got rescheduled, and since I hadn't checked their website or anything like that, I had no idea until a friend and I went to buy tickets. That was pretty disappointing, and took the wind out of my sails kind of. But! I did find shenanigans to get up to anyway.
The downside is that I'd pretty much pinned my hopes on going as Gay Bar Lincoln, and without the E6 show, that seemed like a tougher costume to pull off. Sooo, I just got some makeup together and got all zombied up.
I always try to get fancy with my makeup, couldn't have just gone green-faced, I had to paint the skull-face teeth in there. Anyway, there we go.

You called the cops on them? That's a dick move, dude, in my opinion. You could have went next door and politely asked them to turn it down.
Fuck tha police.

Well that just sucks.

No, I'd say that blasting your neighbors with loud music for hours and hours is the problem here. We put up with it from 5:00 until just about 9:00. That's four hours. That's long enough.
If they don't have the common courtesy and consideration for neighbors not to turn the music up to that volume in the first place, I doubt they'd respond to my request. In the past, when this has gone on with other neighbors, I've tried asking nicely before and been called all sorts of things for my trouble. I'm done with that.

I'm not a fan of Halloween. I didn't go around begging for candy from the neighbors when I was kid. I think it's a stupid holiday and a stupid custom.

My Halloween was the worst one I've experienced. I had no decorations, no costume, didn't really hand out candy, I was sick and was still spent all day working on my house. As a holiday it sucked. As a renovation day it went really well.
I would at least ask the neighbors to turn it down before calling the cops. They might not know it was loud enough to be disruptive to the rest of the neighborhood. My mom was blasting Madonna so loud that one of our neighbors complained and she apologized because she didn't know it was loud enough for anyone else to hear it. Granted, this was back in 1985 in England, but still, the point is valid. Now if you ask and they still don't or they resort to insults or what have you, then call the cops.
The modern Halloween as we know is not truly a religious holiday. It was cobbled together from various customs to celebrate the harvest at this time of year and by various legislations and by greeting card and candy companies. Being pagan, I can tell you that celebrating the actual holiday wouldn't have you doing anything along the lines of begging for candy from your neighbors. Come to think of it, I'm also not even sure where the costumes come from either.

Wait Shockwave....you were naked and coughing in an abondoned house on Halloween? How is that a bad thing?
Okay...I can see where Anderson is coming from. Blasing music super loud on a school night in a residential neighborhood is kind of heelish. The decision to call the cops or just pop in and ask nicely really comes down to what kind of relationship one has with the neighbors.
That said, Anderson is a total heel for sitting and eathing all the candy. Wow.
In contrast to Anderson the Candyhog, I actually took it to the streets. I live on a dead end street, so nobody ever comes to visit me. I loaded up my pockets and a gutted book, (a copy of Rushdie's "Satanic Verses" no less), and went around passing out candy while dressed as a creepy ring master. I actually scared more adults than kids. It was an interesting demonstration of social conditioning.
