That would SUCK! I don't always have enough time in a two week period to finish a game, why the hell would they program it to do that? Do you have to start over or does it still save relatively close to that part?

I still have my ps2 and actually have kept every video game system I've owned. I even still have a fully functional Atari 2600.

You seem to be misinterpreting this. The End is a boss, so if he dies via the save-time-out method, it means the fight is over with you winning automatically the next time you start the game. It's like that because Hideo Kojima is the whimsical video-game equivalent of Grant Morrison.

Yeah. The End isn't even the final boss or anything, I think he's the third guy of the Cobra Unit you fight--there's five of them if I'm not wrong.

Also, MGS3 is really short anyway. I beat it in two or three days on a rental. Really fun, too.

Love MGS3. Love the fight against the End. One time I shot his parrot with a tranquilizer dart and ate it. The End freaked out. He said, "You've gone too far!" It was great.

Just finished Test Drive on the PS2. Fun game! I kind of hit a lot of things and crash a lot in racing games, but Test Drive is really forgiving for players like me. It seems like the other racers will actually slow down and allow you to catch up, which really cuts down on the frustration level. There were some times when I would have just restarted the race halfway through if it were another racing game. But here I knew that there was always a chance. I like that the game came programmed with a sense of sportsmanship.

Those last 8 tracks were rough though. Yeah, I was able to catch up to the lead car most every time, but hell if he was cutting me any slack once I could see him in the distance. It's great fun losing by .005 of a second. Lol! There were some times when I was going so fast through the city, that I didn't know how I wasn't wrecking. I kept thinking, stay on the road, stay on the road!! Don't hit that palm tree!

The only thing that gets me are the long load times. Other than that, this is a really fun racing game. OH! There was one last thing I have to mention. This is one time where I actually think the so-called "bad guy" was in the right. Here's how the story goes:

Clark is a street racer. A rival racer named Vacily wrecks him and he winds up in a wheelchair. Clark hires Dennis Black to race for him while he's on the mend.

He pays Dennis very well for each race he wins, with the understanding that all prizes go to Clark. Dennis agrees to this.

About 40 races later Dennis wins the entire thing, even beating Clark's old rival, Vacily, and collecting Vacily's car in the process.

Clark: "Excellent work, Dennis! Smashing job! Come by the garage so you can collect your HUGE PAYCHECK and drop off the car."

Clark is extremely happy about this and wants to take Vacily's car out for a spin right away. Uh oh! What's this? Clark can drive? He's not in a wheelchair anymore?

Dennis gets pissed and demands to know how long Clark's been well. Clark tells him, "Since Monte Carlo, but you were doing so well. Why ruin a good thing?"

It should be noted that Monte Carlo was the last city you race in.

Dennis gets really mad for some reason and feels as though Clark stabbed him in the back. He threatens to come get Clark unless they race one-on-one for everything.

And this is where I think Dennis is just being a primadonna. He was cool with being a paid racer before, but not now? It's not like Clark wasn't paying him huge sums of money. Seemed to me that Clark was pretty upfront about the whole deal. So anyway, that's that. Dennis Black = Whiner.

On to the next!

...So you DON'T like moe? =p Really though, I totally agree with this. I think it's boss that Athena's hips don't lie anymore, but her pencil neck and mushy face just seem especially misogynist here. It's almost like she's gotten younger. =/ And she just doesn't seem to have that kickass confidence she used to have, but I guess that's a 90s thing. Does she even make little stars when she winks anymore?! D=

I honestly don't mind cute characters. I love Yuri, Malin, Momoko, and even Bao. But when they regress an established character's visual age and maturity purely as a modern marketing sell-out, that's when I take issue with it. Especially Athena, who I previously had gotten the impression was going to be made into more of a mature mentor figure for the younger additions to the Psycho Soldier Team. And now Kensou just looks like a pedophile.

I'm upset about the loss of Oswald as well, especially surprising since I'd heard he was pretty popular. And they kept Duolon in instead of him! The hell?! At least Shen is still in there. He was my absolute favorite addition in KOF2K3. And they're bringing K' back for XIII as well (makes sense, since Kula's gonna be in there).

Hell yeah, Bao doesn't deserve half the stick he gets. I thought he had a nifty personality. I also thought the new Psycho Soldier Team would be Athena, Bao and Momoko, but hey. =/

You remind me I am mostly amused by two things in KoF:

The fact that K' even still competes, despite his "Dislike" still being "KoF" (he and Maxima are two of my gal's favourite characters, mostly because they're such a daft duo, with Maxima constantly convincing whiney K' to do what's right. Also sideburns).

The fact that Duolong is suuuuper 'handsome'. Look at ANY other member of the Hizoku. Look at his *dad*. But nuuuuuuu, when Ash comes along, everyone has to get their purple lipstick on, even the scary assassins with poison for blood! -___- Gotta wonder if he was stigmatised among his clan for it. I'll always prefer Lin.

Gotta love Shenwu too, especially because he represents a subculture that I felt had been missing from KoF for a while. I was always waiting for the time Joe would finally drop the generic Muai Thai gear and don the neon Hawaiian shirt you KNOW he wears when he's out on the town. Costume changes are a big deal for me, and I was especially miffed they regressed Terry to his old look in XIII. Byebye, logical timeline...!

You wanna talk about costume changes? Look at Ralph and Clark! I'm absolutely terrified (and whatever happened to Whip?). And we haven't seen for sure yet, but Yuri's supposedly gotten rid of her ponytail. Y'know, so she's an even more transparent Sakura knockoff?

As if Joe in generic Muai Thai gear wasn't enough, XIII brings back Hwa Jai, who just looks like a short Sagat in generic Muai Thai gear.

Nope. Perhaps it wasn't clear but we were talking about Metal Gear Solid 3, where you play as Naked Snake (Big Boss, the father of Solid Snake, the protagonist of the NES Metal Gear and Metal Gear Solid 1 & 2).

It's also important to note that it's only if you save during this particular boss battle that this goes into effect. Any other time and you still have to fight him regularly.


Anyway! I'm trying to beat Duke Nukem 3D on XBLA. I played the hell out of the original PC release but that was when I was a kid--so I was using all the cheat codes, clipping through walls, having all the keys constantly, God Mode on...So this is my first time going through the game legit. I'm at the fourth episode now and it's a 'bitch.' The whole game has been reasonable with its difficulty thus far but E4 is just insane. This is where they introduce the Pigcop tanks and the Alien Drones, both of which are nearly impossible to kill, and suddenly there's way less health and ammo. Also, there's a lot less of a feeling that the previous level is directly continuing on from the last level. Overall, I think the E4 levels were designed by a different team than the E1-3 guys.
