Depends on who else is in it. Part of me thinks they won't put another Sideswipe mould in it...and part of me does.

Incidentally--what if, instead, they went with new, G2-inspired colour schemes for some of the remaining? Just off the top of my head--G2 Sunstreaker, in red with yellow robot bits.

And mine just went up a bit. Holy crap, that looks fantastic. I have to wonder though, how necessary was a new headsculpt in this case? The cartoon model's head resembles Sideswipe enough that it would have worked. And probably looked better than the big square head that the toys all had. Ah, well.

I wouldn't be surprised by Black Sideswipe showing up as one of the freebies or attendee exclusives or whatever they call 'em. I dunno, Dom, maybe that's something to hope for?

The fact is those colors are ugly. And, I am a bit biased against former merge-members that are not part of merge-teams. (Not that I do not like TFU Onslaught or Dragstrip mind you.) As much as I like the Sideswipe mould, I am not a fan of those ugly colors.

I considered this during class...during a test.

And, I am dreading this. Given how versatile the mould is, it is very likely that it will be used one or two more times for this show, and at least one of those will be for an in-show exclusive of some kind...meaning I will be spending time on E-Bay. :( (I really like this mould.)

Y'know, Breakdown is one I really should've seen coming, given the circumstances. I think this is the first Botcon toy that is an homage to another Botcon toy. Well played, FunPub.

Honestly, given what we've seen so far, I don't know how likely Black Sideswipe actually is. They seem to purposefully be going for the most ridiculously outrageous color schemes available, hoping to capitalize on the amount of fans that go for this sort of thing. Black Sideswipe wouldn't really fit in.

And I'm sorry Dom, but I honestly find those colors really nice. The big G2 Decepticon symbol on the hood really sells it.

Calling it now: Hooligan will be in this set.

You are right that Breakdown was a really obvious choice.

The colors on these toys are ugly, They look awful. There. I said it.

So far, this set has two really good moulds in really ugly colors. (That fire truck mould is very much under-appreciated.) The car mould is one fo the best Hasbro has ever produced, and is my all time favorite. I really do not care much about the characters. Pyro/Spark is litte more than nobody. And, while I do not dislike Breakdown, he was always my least favorite Stunticon. (Deadend and Motormaster tied for first.) And, given FP's track record with content, it is a safe bet that the comic for the set will not be that strong.

Given how flexible the car mould is, I am sure we will see it used at least once more this year, possibly twice.

Dom
-thinking Sideswipe will be and unholy rare in-show exclusive. (This would not be wholly good or bad news.)

I think putting Sideswipe in would balance out the set--people who wouldn't buy it because of the other garishly-coloured toys would because Sideswipe provides balance.

I'm neutral on Breakdown. At the very least, he's got his name printed on his side--a huge G2 bit for me.

The character/faction names being printed on the toys is one of the things introduced in G2, (and carried through the Beast Years), that I am of two minds about. It does make it easier to identify toys after the fact. But, it also looks tacky.

I do hope you are right about Sideswipe being in the set for balance.

Of course, I still have to buy another regular Sunstreaker/Sideswipe if I hope to make a TFU Wreckloose, (based on the movie RPM being a recolor of Sideswipe).

Dom
-could do without Starscream or Ramjet, but understand them being included.

I know, but I love that kind of cheesy ridiculousness. MEGATRON RULES! and such.

Oh, God, that'd be a bad one. Armada Megatron repainted as G2 Megs with a new head.

I could actually go for that, assuming the colors were not too hideous.

Dom
-just does not get the appeal of ugly colors.

It's like watching a horrible movie, or listening to really awful music. For example, I've got an affection for a particularly awful 80s thrash metal band by name of...Onslaught. (Coincidence, sort of. 86 and I were considering the moniker for our early musical endeavours for obvious reasons, but then these guys existed and I listened to them. They're really bad in the best way.) Under no circumstances will I say that Onslaught is a meaningful and worthwhile band to listen to, nor will I recommend you go and listen to them if you want 'good music.' But it's horrible thrash metal that does everything about horrible thrash metal that I find endearing.

Or, actually, it's like reading bad trainwreck comics, which you know a lot about. :P

It doesn't help that I was born in 1989, and this kind of insane neon clashing, which was popular amongst nearly all toylines in the early 90s, is pretty nostalgic for me.
