How? If you look at what is visible of the "Transformers" logo on Huffer's packaging, you can see it is a solid color. The movie toys have what I'd call a "raw metal" look to it's "Transformers" logo. And the rest of the "Power Core" packaging aesthetic looks to be new.

Man Dom, do you want me to buy you a Bludgeon, yank it out of its ROTF packaging, cram it into a TFU Voyager box, and mail it to you that way? Because that's really all it is: A belated TFU toy stuck into the box-style of the only mainstream line they had going at the time. Do you keep the packaging? Unless you do, there's really no reason to fret about it. Out of sight, out of mind.

Or just buy two. One to serve as ROTF Bludgeon, and one to be TFU Bludgeon. Problem solved.

Anyway, I don't see why PCC has to be categorized as ROTF or TFU. It's just Some Other Line, for all we can tell. Logically that would place it in...Other Lines. We have a subheading for that, right?

Yeah, we do, but like I said--right now we have next to no information on the line itself, and Hasbro has said all of nothing so (technically) we shouldn't even be discussing it.

I do not save the packaging. But, I do factor it in. Bludgeon's bio references the TrU exclusive pack as well as the Recon Ironhide sold in the same case as tank Bludgeon. The context for Bludgeon is clearly the movie.

I just notice you comment more about comics and such than toys. I barely remember you saying anything about the toys. (Not that I mind you commenting on them. It is just weird when you do.)

Good catch on the font. I was looking at the darker colors on the packaging, which look more like movie packaging than the lighter colors of "Animated" or TFU.

So this is a 'sub-line' out of the main Transformers line, apparently.

Yeah. I think after a little we're gonna need at least a slight restructuring of the boards. Once we have a main forum for the new line, I'd say the Power Core stuff should go there.

I may have spoken too soon. There is a new promotional ad from the UK Toy Fair that shows the Movie packaging will be getting a new look. The Power Core packaging we've seen is still somewhat different from this new look, but it is much more similar than what the previous style was.

The ad also claims the Power Core Combiners are based on the "combination theme" from RotF.

Hasbro may not have actually finallized any of it yet. Do not worry too much over it. (The fact you are catching this stuff at all is helpful.)

As for the line about "continuing the combiner theme", that just means "the toys fit together". Remember, you were looking at a document meant for people on the business side. (Note the use of the marketing term "segment" in the same text.)

Remember, this is the same operational level that decided Unicron Trilogy toys were appropriate for movie packaging, because thost Target scouts look so good next to movie deluxes. And, really, if you look very quicly and do not think about it at all, TrU Jetstorm looks right at home with RotF Stratosphere. (Mind you, I like the UT recolors. But, they do not feel like movie toys.

I know, but it's just that I wouldn't really say RotF had that much of a "combiner theme". Devastator and Jet Prime and kind of the Twins (as an icecream truck) were pretty much it. Acree was supposed to but that was dropped from the movie and while the toys include the gimmick, the instructions don't tell you about it.
