Hah, finally found what I was looking for.

Regarding both of those strips:





The Universe-head one just looks funnier, somehow. I'm trying to picture what Powerglide would say in that situation...

"I didn't mean to use the Falcon Punch! Honest!"

Aw man, I just realized that I totally should've replaced the girl's head with Astoria's in the last panel...

Sorry, the first thing that came to mind when I read "dull surprise" (really, as soon as I read "dull") was CtrlAltDel. That was the best strip I could find to represent the dull surprise look, plus it's unintentionally hilarious anyway. But clearly Prowl has already figured that out.

Oh, and @ Scourge: What? Where on earth did you find that, it's going to haunt my dreams.

Seeing Prowl and Sunstreaker together on the shelves really drove the horrible boxart home. I mean, hey, I absolutely love boxart as a medium, and am really glad they brought it back vs. photos of the toys ala Classics.

I'm still going with "Hey, make them seem more roboty and statuey," and the dude kinda ran with it and nobody realized it sucked until it was too late.
