I seriously doubt that, the Club most likely doesn't give a crap. Whatever will net them the most money. It's how a business operates. High demand + low supply = justified high prices.Onslaught Six wrote:Hell no. They'd be fools to try it after last year's Seeker debacle.

3H? Glen Halit? Yeah, I might've believed that. But have you actually gone and done research on these guys, and the lengths they have gone to for the Joe fans? I mean, clearly, it's a different environment--TF vs. Joe--but it's the same guys doing it.CrossRook wrote:I seriously doubt that, the Club most likely doesn't give a crap. The Seeker debacle was clearly a lapse in their judgement. They're new, and they're still testing the waters. It doesn't help that a lot of the fandom is relatively placid yes-men when it comes to a lot of crap. The fact that Furman still has active fans proves it.

Re: kitbashing with Sunstreaker
Uh. 'Why'? It made pissloads of money, got everyone talking about them, and the figures all sold out. Doesn't sound remotely like a lapse in judgement on Fun Publications' part to me. "Darn, we sold all the toys we made. Better not do 'that' again."The Seeker debacle was clearly a lapse in their judgement.
Hasbro, now, Hasbro were the ones who said "We have no plans to make these. You guys go ahead." They could easily have done so, and clearly underestimated the market. As did Fun Pub, by not producing enough, which was indeed testing the waters. But it sure did what it was supposed to do, and now the people who bitched and moaned can buy Takara's. And Acid Storm. Ha-ha, Acid Storm.

Well, on that front, sure, but on the not-totally-pissing-your-fans-off front, they screwed up. >.>

Re: kitbashing with Sunstreaker
The whole Seeker thing drives me crazy, because of how the fans reacted. I mean, we bitch at Hasbro at the ends of the last three lines for adding too many repaints. Then they do Classics and we get to the end and what are we bitching at them about now? Not enough repaints. *Sigh* There's a real double standard going with the Seekers. As long as it's those guys, Hasbro gets to repaint the same mold 6+ times and no one raises an objection. Frankly, I'd rather see them all get their own distinc molds that just happen to share design elements. Maybe even different vehicle modes (One as an F-15, another as an F-22, etc).
The fact that the Classics Seeker mold kinda sucks doesn't help my disposition on this. Of course, if they did it up as Sunstorm, I'd totally buy it. Or, oh hey, if we want a wide-release Classics Thundercracker so bad, they can use his Actionmaster colors. That would be awesome!

Only because they didn't make 'enough', though. It's not like they said "No, Hasbro, we think 'you' should make these, and will thus refuse to, denying everyone a Thrust with new wings." 'Cause that would've pissed the fans off more. I think. Never can tell what'll piss fans off these days.Well, on that front, sure, but on the not-totally-pissing-your-fans-off front, they screwed up. >.>
For the record, I sold my Dirge and Thrust and kept Thundy, 'cause he's a nice shade of blue. And I'm sick of Seeker repaints. See: Animated, where the only one I'd want is the female one, 'cause she's an interesting character.
I'd buy that so hard it'd put a hole in the receipt.Or, oh hey, if we want a wide-release Classics Thundercracker so bad, they can use his Actionmaster colors. That would be awesome!

I laughed and laughed and laughed at the Great Seeker Debacle. Then I chortled and giggled a bit. Of course, had Ramjet been the exclusive figure and, say, Thrust the regular, I probably would've...
..decided to cowboy the hell up and get over it. Or actually gotten the BotCon Seekers. But then, maybe I'm looking at the whole thing wrong.
Heh. All the Seekers I give a rat's posterior about get wide-release anyway. I mean, the green bastard's getting a real release! Thundercracker's the hard-to-find exclusive, and friggin' crazy green Seeker's the wide release one...who'd have seen that coming?

See, that's the thing, I'm a big Thundercracker fan, and yet somehow I've managed to avoid every single possible Thundy release ever. The Armada repaint, TitThundy, and CybThundy because he sucked horribly. (Funnily enough, 86 and I 'both' managed to break the mould upon getting it. I got Skywarp.)
So yeah, I like Thundy.

I ignored the debate because I was pre-registered for BotCon. :/
