Wouldn't be much of a repaint, considering they're both colored like WASPS! Also, between that and Mirage, do you only like toys if they're colored like characters from previous series?Mirage wrote:Well, I'll bet Mirage won. Accidentally left him out of my favorite figures-- I was always hoping for a G1 repaint, but no such luck. Buzzsaw, I guess my main problem was the giant spring-for-an-arm. Never could get past that. But I still would have bought a Waspinator repaint.

Uh... no? If I seem endlessly negative, I'm probably just not coming across very well. I actually enjoy most of the Transformers series immensely (I've got the overstuffed house and empty wallet to prove it), I just don't like Beast Machines as well as some of the others.BWprowl wrote:Wouldn't be much of a repaint, considering they're both colored like WASPS! Sure, I love a good homage (though sometimes they're unnecessary) but I usually prefer to judge toys on their own merits.
That said, I've never seen an actual wasp that's neon green, yellow and orange. I guess the Waspy repaint I would have liked would have been darker green with gray and had the yellow and black striped abdomen. Still not all that wasp-ish, and maybe not even that attractive, but then you could have had a post-Thrust Waspinator to use (I know he's the universe's whipping boy, but I hate to think he spent eternity as we saw him at the end of the series: The little bug with a giant Thrust head...).

Well, the original thing was pretty much that Buzzsaw was supposed to be Waspinator anyway. Rattrap would've saved him from being Thrust. That didn't pan out, probably because it didn't mesh with the show, so he became Buzzsaw instead.

In that case, I'm never taking you to Vegas, 'cause you'd lose that bet.Mirage wrote:Well, I'll bet Mirage won.

I've long wanted a repaint of Buzzsaw in gunmetal grey with translucent red wings. Why? Because it'd look awesome, and Moar Buzzsaw is surely a good thing.
Vehicon Mirage is also several flavours of awesome. He'd fit in extremely well with the movie line, funnily enough..

I never cared for his head-gun. It was a happy day when I realized it could pop off and fit in his hand.

I just wish you could give him fully functional skates. I've long considered going in and just dremeling off those bits that block the wheels from rolling on the ground.

Re: New NewBee with squishy sidekick
Heh-- that really would complete the "goalie motif".

Well, that and if he could actually hold his hockey-stick missles.
