Last night, I picked up the Movie Masters Batman figure, the Batman Begins version. Something about the TDK figure turned me off, so I got this one instead. Mostly I just got him so Joker has someone to stand next to. Also got a Joker poster that I haven't put up yet.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

So, we all remember the 25th Legions set, right? Well, I got it for Xmas last year, and decided, y'know, if prices get low enough on this thing, I'll buy another one. More troops for me, right?

So I headed to K-Mart in January or so, and they were...$27. Screw 'that,' that's more than they are regularly. So I waited it out. Eventually, they gotta cut down the price, right?

They finally did...to $15. 'Today.' After like a year. So I picked one up. Yay, troops.

Dom, you need custom fodder? I've now got a Storm Shadow I don't want.

Picked up some trades yesterday: Reign of Starscream and Best of UK: Dinobots. I mainly got Dinobots to counteract the expected horridness of IDW's new Maximum Dinobots, which also started coming out this week, and turned out to be not that bad. Better than Devastation at this point, at least.

Animated Bumblebee. Mostly bought him because I was procrastinating from finals. I'm not really sure why I got him, the toy doesn't quite hold up to my expectations. There should be a way to make the stingers fold in completely, although it seems like it should've been possible to make them fold out just like in the show. The yellow plastic is a little too translucent? and it doesn't matched the opacity of the yellow painted parts. The toy could use a few extra paint apps anyway, the headlights barely look distinguishable from the rest of the yellow and overall the thing looks a little like a knockoff. I think that's just the inherent problem with yellow toys..

I found all three of the Resolute guys at my Target, nabbed Duke since he was the only one I had any intention of getting.

*checks your blog for thoughts on CC and the Trooper*

Huh, Duke's the sucky one, huh? I've got enough CCs so far and the Trooper doesn't fit with the figures I already have, but a rearrangement the other day kinda necessitated another space that should probably be filled for symmetry reasons...I might pick up the Trooper. But I'm not opening 'any' of the figures until Christmas. Yay the haul.

Also rented The Dark Knight from the $1 DVD Rental Kiosk outside Sheetz. Trying this thing out.

Went to two different Targets after work 'cause I heard that the Hound/Cyclonus/Cheetor wave was popping up in my area. No such luck, but I did come across a coupla Joes:

Zartan w/Swamp Skier- I'm pretty much done with Joes, but I make exceptions for Zartan. This is a rather nice "Marvel Comics"-based version (As opposed to the first version, which I think was Devil's Due or whatever). I mainly got it because it lacks pupils, as Zartan should, and comes with cool accessories. The masks are fun, especially since the one, I think it's supposed to be Duke, looks for all the world like William Shatner. And the Storm Shadow mask actually stands a chance of being passable, since it fits with the hood Zartan already wears. The Skier's a nice touch, though there's no way to get him to ride it without looking ridiculous, which is a plus in its own way, I guess.

Croc Master- As I said, I'm pretty much done with Joes, but I also make exceptions for AWESOME ones! This is Croc Master: A former alligator wrestler and home security salesman who's in charge of filling the canals of Cobra Island with deadly reptiles. And he comes with a fucking crocodile. They've clearly mislabled his packaging. It should read "Cobra Security Reptile- Code Name: FUCKING AWESOME CROCODILE! Includes Bonus Croc Master!" This figure is a joy simply to own.
