I was about to ask how such a thing could be possible, but then remembered your dislike of larger toys.

From what I've seen, I'm actually concerned that he might be not big enough for me, since I'd been hoping he'd be able to scale with MP-10.
I saw a pic somewhere over on BBTS of Leader Megs next to MP-10, they're not far off. Megs might be slightly shorter, but not significantly so.

In my mind, to 'scale' properly, Megatron should be at least a little bigger than Prime, so him being shorter here doesn't do it for me. It's not a deal-breaker in the least, since demanding a brand-new toy from the current mainline fit with my personal scale to an older toy from a completely different subline would be absurd, but it is marginally disappointing as a thing that won't happen.

Mine's on pre-order at BBTS (along with the Armada variant, and the Wave 2 CW Deluxes, and the Japanese version of Strongarm) due out this month, so hopefully I'll be getting it soon.

(Speaking of, y'all saw that Ultra Magnus went on pre-order, right?)

Have I even reported hauls lately? Slackin'! Real quick:

Terra Formars Vol. 4 and 5 - My Diamond guy finally got these in, catching up on this series (hopefully overtaking to what I watched through in the sadly lackluster anime adaptation) so I can continue to make a decision about how long I'll be following this series.

Archer flask - Archer is a show that has steadily wormed its way in and taken over my life, and I've wanted a flask for some time, so when my roommate and I saw that the FX store offered official Archer-branded flasks (really the most perfect piece of merchandise that could tie into the show) how could we resist? Seems to be a decent flask on its own, can be carried around without dripping (I've, annoyingly, used some drippy flasks in my time). Nice.

Shitload of PSN games - By the absolute sheerest chance, I decided to see if PSN had Wild Arms 2 available and how much it was (I've been interested in the game for some time, owing to it sharing some creative team with Symphogear, one of my favorite animus of late), only to find that it and a bunch of other stuff was on a flash sale for less than a buck each. So I grabbed Wild Arms 1 and 2, Mega Man X4 and X5, one of the Sam & Max collections, and Katamari Damacy, for a total of like $5.40. Fuck yeah! Wild Arms 2 is pretty cool so far, takes a bit to get going, but man, when it does, it does.

Also have a metric dickload of stuff on pre-order from both BBTS and AmiAmi, so hopefully by the end of this month... (my AmiAmi order is being held up by waiting for a keychain to come into stock. A keychain!)

I agree with you on the scale thing, I just thought you'd like to know there was a pic showing them together. Found Armada Megatron at TRU last night but skipped because I really just want the G1 version but I also have both on preorder with BBTS. If I find one individually though I'll just get that instead and cancel the preorder. Didn't see the one for Magnus yet, but I did see the one for MP Diaclone blue Bluestreak. That thing is SO preordered. I also got Cyclonus and Defensor on preorder, but the other four limb bots are on preorder with HTS. Man, Hasbro is making this an expensive year so far.

EDIT: Here's the link for the image, it's on the listing for the Japanese version of Leader Megs:

The problem with Megatron's size is not so much him as a toy, but--much like your problem--an unrealistic expectation for any individual modern toy to "fit" with the hodgepodge of personally hand-picked toys for scale and looking best together. My Prime is ClaPrime, so Megs being towering over him so much is kind of a bummer, and weirdly enough, he's HUGE compared to, say, Superion--comes up to his damn chest!--which is pretty weirdo to imagine. He would probably work if the damn Ultra scale was still a thing, with Leaders being a little bigger than they are now. It's hard to explain. If he was only like an inch shorter (scaled properly, of course) he'd probably be best.

People spend so much time worrying about whether a figure is "mint" or not that they never stop to consider other flavours.

2x Star Wars Rebels Stormtroopers - 20% off plus free shipping, I should have bought more but I'm trying to scale down.

T-Fal 3-qt Saucepan - my old 3-quart burned last year, and I had been relying on my 2-quart until I noticed a that the top non-stick coating was coming off from being too aggressive with the lid during popcorn making.

Whirley Pop - also bought one of these so my new pot wouldn't get wrecked, got it at Bed Bath & Beyond with a 20% off coupon. So far it's not too bad but I'm reading a lot of complaints over the nylon gears breaking. The 6-quart aluminum pot is extremely chintzy but so far worked, while the top seems adequately made and its stirring system is decent.

Got a nice surprise in the mail today. Electric Six's kickstarter album "Mimicry and Memories" got here. One disk is all demos and rarities, the other is all covers. I am a sucker for a good cover. And this has E6 covering Ween and Bowie and Weird Al so you know I had to support it.

Also picked up Blackjack last week. He's a pretty legit little Legends class toy at a time that I'm really into that size class. Sadly, his chest armor mode does not seem to stay on very well, which is disappointing.

Last haul of the month last night, couple manga volumes courtesy of my Diamond guy:

Black Lagoon Vol. 10 - One of my favorite series ever finally resumes publication, and oh boy is it worth the wait. Hiroe kicks off what already looks to be an intense story arc with this one, bringing Jane back and introducing some new characters to test the uptick in Rock's characterization that was made clear, ah, three years ago before the series went on hiatus. He hasn't missed a beat, and his knack for blending character study and concepts with the progression of the story only seems to have gotten better now. Welcome back, Black Lagoon.

Citrus Vol. 2 - Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

Leader Class Megatron showed up yesterday from HTS, a month early and 3 days earlier than tracking said it would. It's a flawed figure in some ways: too simple a transformation, ugly shoulder joints, a long and confused weapon, a few kibble issues, and lousy hip ratchet spacing. But the sculpt, the shiny silver paint, the size, and a fairly decent tank mode keep it satisfying.

My haul: a new job, it looks like. For those who don't know, I lost my job of 10 years about two and a half weeks ago. Corporate consolidation was the given reason, and my job was one of about 12 that was eliminated. Needless to say, I've been sending out my resume and looking into possibilities, and it looks like I'm going to go to work doing graphic design and pre-press at a small print shop. It's a longer drive, and a big change from the comfortable corporate environment I've been used to, but I've worked in a small print shop before so it's not unfamiliar to me, and more importantly it will pay the bills. Who knows? The change may be a good thing.

Sorry to hear the job left you like that, but glad you got something else so quickly.
