Re: December Hauls!
The big haul!
-Generations Skids
-Generations Crosscut
-Generations Arcee
-Generations Cosmos
-and Generations Swerve
Only opened Skids, Swerve and Cosmos so far. Sadly it is VERY clear where the budget on Swerve's wave went, with Cosmos oozing articulation and transformation and Swerve just kind of languishing; the two could be balanced a little better. Skids is cool; I'll post more thoughts later.

Re: December Hauls!
As part of my large Christmas haul, I received the Transformers: Legacy hardcover! I was hoping someone would gift that to me.

Re: December Hauls!
X-Mas hauls! First up, from the GF: A t-shirt with Shockwave on it, but it's Shockwave if he transformed into a Dalek from Dr. Who. This is now my favorite t-shirt. A funko figure of Sheldon Cooper from Big Bang Theory. From the Parents: The Star Trek TNG uniform hoodie from Thinkgeek, three calendars, a set of casserole dishes, a pie dish, Tetris Jenga, Optimus Prime mini Mr. Potatohead, The Lego Movie on DVD, Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, Big Bang Theory season 7 DVD and the Adjustment Bureau on DVD. That last one was actually regifted (I'd given them that a couple years ago) since this year I got it for them on Blu-ray. Also, a butter dish, two Transformers posters (1 each with Autobot and Decepticon logo). Also apparently a few other things that haven't arrived yet: A Star Wars toaster, shoes, and a TF calendar.

Re: December Hauls!
Haven't really bought anything all December for financial and Hasbro reasons, but here's my xmas hauls:
Logitech T650 wireless touchpad - pretty nice, better than reviews suggest actually. The mechanical click space is stupid, luckily they updated the firmware and now it's a proper touchpad with all sorts of taps and gestures.
Boogie Board Jot 8.5 writing slate - kinda nifty, very lightweight, quite simple.
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride Key - from Dinseyland, now I have a new habit to feed, these keys are quite nice.
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep graphic novel
The Rocketeer blu ray
The Compleat Al dvd x2
a bunch of gift cards

See, that one's a camcorder, that one's a camera, that one's a phone, and they're doing "Speak no evil, See no evil, Hear no evil", get it?

Re: December Hauls!
Been putting this off, so:
-four Joe 50th Destros. I dunno why these were being sold but I paid a little under $20, which is what the set Destro comes from retails for, so I can probably recoup my costs pretty easily. The good news is, Prowl, that this is likely to be the last Destro I'll ever need...in his classic design.
-Two excellent t-shirts; one is a recreation of a poster for Rocky vs. Clubber Lang from Rocky 3, the other is of the Godzilla vs. Gigan Japanese poster. Sweet!
-Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 for 360. I loved the first game but from what I've read, the plot on this one goes into shark jump mode. But I'm willing to be proven wrong!
-A Nextbook 8 tablet. I'm not really interested in tablets as a whole (they seem like a frustrating compromise between phone and computer) but Randi seems to like it!
-Constructbots Blitzwing. I put him together but haven't messed with him much. Seems alright, and may have some details I like better than Generations Blitzy!
-Evangelion mango vol 14. I think I'm missing a few, but this one is up to the events of End of Eva now, so! I dig reading these as another alternate take ala the Rebuild films, and my understanding of the universe's canon means it could be a Second or third pass universe.
Plus a bunch of cash and gift cards in various denominations, which I spent on...
-Looper and Iron Man DVDs for $6 total. For years I've put off getting any Marvel films on DVD because I always wanted "the best one," or was hoping for a reasonably priced boxset, but as DVD special feature support is rapidly dwindling and there's no good box set in sight, plus the number of these things is ever-growing, I said fuck it and started from the beginning.
-Joe 50th Baroness vs Lady Jaye. The only Jaye I own is from the Retaliation film, and most Baronesses from the past either sucked or were hard to find or expensive. Plus it had a shitload of weapons!
-Reaident Evil 2, Dualshock version. This is the second time I've ever owned the game and the first I've had two working discs from the same version, so the saves are compatible. I played through Leon A via emulator sometime earlier this year but I can't wait to try my hand at it again on legit hardware.
-comics: MTMTE 36, Drift: Empire of Stone 1&2, and...TMNT/Ghostbusters #2, of which I have not read #1. The comic shop was selling everything on the shelves for A Dollar, explaining my last purchase!

Re: December Hauls!
Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Limited Edition: Arrived from Amazon a few days before Christmas. Rejoice, people of the world, for we have been blessed with a brand-new Guilty Gear game! This finally-full-on sequel is everything it should be.
Bakemonogatari Limited Edition Blu-Ray box set: My asshole friends teamed up and completely blindsided me with this as an early Christmas gift. I was floored. The Monogatari series is in the pantheon of my favorite Chinese Girl Cartoons of all time, I put it up on the same pedestal as Gunbuster and Black Lagoon. But this box set of the first show in the series is disgustingly expensive, but they pooled together and got it for me! Jerks! I have cool friends.
Christmas day haul:
New dress pants
Jeans
Slippers
Facial Hair trimmer/detailer
Wallet
Pillow
Batman TV Series (the 60's one) Complete First Season DVD (Fuck, YES!)
Next couple days wound up at stores and bought-
Power Rangers Super Megaforce Quantum Ranger: There's still a few of these I'm swayed to buy (they're cheap!) and TimeFire or the 'Quantum Ranger' is one of them, mostly because I love his design and concept. Missed opportunity, maybe I should've gotten a TimeRed to go with him? I love Kobayashi's 'Extra Red' fetish, too bad this is the only one we'll get a toy here of (Kaoru as Shinken Red seems unlikely, and we're definitely never getting Dark Red Buster).
Combiner Wars Thundercracker: Yowza I hope the pricing on these calms down soon after release, because eleven bucks for a new 'Legends' class figure, sans the little 'partner' guys the previous ones had, is nuts. They're lucky I like this particular Seeker mold, and Thundercracker, and was excited to see new-line TFs on the pegs. Still a cool toy.
Rescue Bots Dino Blades: Clearanced down to like two bucks, I'd been wanting this because it looked cute as fuck. Lil' pteranodon that automorphs into robot mode? Goes well with that T-Rex Optimus I got a while back? Sure.
Might have ONE more haul coming in for the year, depends on when this latest AmiAmi order makes it to me.

Re: December Hauls!
Let's see...
- Transformers Legacy
- Arrow seasons 1 and 2
- the extended editions of the Hobbit 1 and 2, both on blu-ray (though with my older tv it looks just like dvd!)
- David Tennant's second season of Doctor Who
- an 8 man tent so family camping won't be so crowded
- six books in a series by Joseph Altshier, an author of historical fiction that my grandfather used to enjoy reading. I had one book in the series, so now I have plenty more to read
- various snacks that I enjoy
- other little things. No clothes this year, amazingly.
- I got a season of the A-Team on DVD... hadn't seen those in years. My kids think it's great and keep asking to watch the next episode. My 5 year old loves Mr. T.

I pity the fool that don't like the A-Team!andersonh1 wrote:My 5 year old loves Mr. T.
Ahem. Was at Target with the gf yesterday and found Jhiaxus, Combiner Wars Thundercracker and Windcharger and Star Wars Black... I dunno, the white astromech droid that's not R2. Out of those, I got Windcharger and Jhiaxus. Jhiaxus because I need more Decepticons and Windcharger because holy fuck I actually found Windcharger. Also, I already have a legends scale TC and didn't feel like I needed another one.

Re: December Hauls!
You know this isn't the difficult-to-find Basic from a year or so back, right? It's a new Legends-scale toy retooled from the somewhat-cruddy Tailgate we got earlier this year. I kind of really hate the look of this one, the old one was about a bazillion times better (and could actually be had pretty cheaply on eBay the last time I checked, to the point that I didn't even bother trying to sell the spare I wound up with there).Shalkwave wrote:and Windcharger because holy fuck I actually found Windcharger.
